Car wax

What do you consider the all around best car wax?

Consider the amount of time it takes to apply, how hard is it to remove, how long it lasts, how well it shines, does water bead up really nice, and how well it hides scratches.

Personally I have found the Turtle Wax Ice to be my best bet. It is very easy going on, and coming off. Most important factor for me is that it is very quick compared to other waxes i have used. Mainly because you dong have to worry about marking up the plastic parts, and it spreads really far. Not to mention the water beads up really nice, and does so for atleast 2 months afterwards

I've never tried that, but I'm going to because of the plastic issue ( No matter how careful, I'm always spreading it). Related issue, is there any type of material that can be used when waxing, or washing, that does not cause that swirl effect? You know the one, just barely visible, but there !! I've tried everything I could think of on cars for years, and can't avoid it, but I sure would like to, on this car.

Re: Car wax

I have been using Meguiars NXT Tech Wax and Detail Spray (for daily touch-ups). Both are great products that put a mirror shine on your car.

That's what I'm looking for. Any thoughts on polishing cloths (or other)?

Meguiars detail spray is used to remove dust, water marks, bird droppings, etc., from your car in between washings. You just mist it on with a spray bottle and wipe off immediately with a microfiber towel. I do my entire car in only 10 minutes. It is also a gloss enhancer that makes your freshly waxed car really "pop."

Barry Meguiar has an excellent instructional video, "How to Create a Show Car Perfect Finish," regarding the use of his products. See:

Re: Car wax

I only use Zaino products on my 300C SRT8. Easy on and off. Beads forever. Kind of expensive but if you can afford a 40k+ car...... Tried Turtle Wax Ice, didnt like it. Seemed like I was Armor Alling the whole car to me.

I am part of the Zaino cult too... (www.zainobros.com)
I call it a cult because once you start using it, you typically will not use anything else.

I have not asked "Sal" about the decals and recommended care but I am sure he has recommendations based on Chargers...

Zaino is about the longest lasting polymer I have used and if you use the car wash and the Z6 detail spray, your shine will continue to shine for a long time.

My car was about 8yrs old when this was taken. Factory paint.

And a higher res version of my avatar
