My 2013 r/t classic has damage to 2 stripe sections. Dealer quoted me $500 to replace them. Would you just say, "to hell with it" and remove the stripes. :scratchhead:
Considering the strips on a new car are a $500 option from the factory, I think it a decent deal.
Adding something after the fact is always more expensive and they have to remove the old ones as well.
Regarding removing them, anytime I've seen this done on a RV, it leaves a ghost image because the paint underneath is untouched whereas the surrounding paint has be subject to washing and normal wear. So you might prepare yourself in the event you have to put more back on.
the r/t srtipe kit from dodge is around 230 bucks.to remove the stripes the hotter the car the better.if you need to warm them up use a heat gun .once removed you might be able to see where the stripes where or maybe not.i believe you can buy drivers side and passenger side separate from the dealer...hope this helps
I agree. That's way too much money for stickers. There are plenty of places to get new ones if you want the same style or use the opportunity to change the look.
First thing I did was add stripes to my R/T, got them from Big worm graphics ($170). They were more than the $80 you've been told about on eBay but quality must be considered. Either way, peel and leave them off or replace but not at the dealership, not for $500.
