Question 1/4 mile times

Before I begin any SRT Owners been to the track yet w/ their cars? I'm curious to see what kind of times these SRT8s are going to post -Bonestock. I'm predicting best -Mid 13s -13.5-13.6 worst 13.8 -13.10. Of Coarse this depends on many things; The Track prep, air temp, altitude, Humidity & most important the hot shoe drivin it. I'm guessing given the cars heavy weight- RWHP & Believe me those 20" wheels aren't going to help on launch & traction (Not enough sidewall for effective squat & contact patch) The auto stick will help a little though JMO Based on my experiences. Anybody else have any idea? Any insiders know what the RWHP/RWTQ ratings are. Flywheel numbers don't mean dick those are just for advertising.

Re: 1/4 mile times

I think low 13's will be the norm...my 5.7 charger turns 13.8 regularily

Re: 1/4 mile times

I think those numbers are a pretty good estimate, but I think I've seen some charger guys get low 13s/high 12s with some experience. The 6 spd with the steeper rear gear should help those numbers out a little bit.

Is that stock? What size wheel/tire combo ? How much do the Chargers weigh in at? I've seen Charger guys running in the High 12s w/bolt on mods. I.E CAI, Headers & a Nitto DR tire

Re: 1/4 mile times

Honestly don't remember where I saw this, but I'm pretty sure they were stock. I think one of the first things I'm gonna do with mine once the stock tires wear down is go wider in the rear. 255 is not wide enough with the power from these cars.

Chargers are only 100ish lbs heavier than the challenger.

Re: 1/4 mile times

Yeah I agree -255s suck You think they would have went w/ a 18" w/ P275s at least for the SRT-Oh well Thank god for the Aftermarket. Wonder How wide you could go with that car & still look good. None of that tire sticking out nonsense. Hope your going to lower yours! That would be the first thing I would do! SEND US LOTS OF PICS! I NEED NEW WALLPAPER!

Re: 1/4 mile times

Stock, like you said depending on different variables from 13.2-13.8 and 0-60 in 4.7-5.0.

Naturally the Jeep is the fastest from 0-60, wet or dry.

Re: 1/4 mile times

Well I'm not gonna spend a whole lot since I plan to get another with a six spd in 2010ish or when the SRT gets a HP upgrade. I really can't tell how high it is off the ground from the pics! I went to the Tulsa Auto show, and they said the challenger there was damaged and not on display. I need to see it in person to really tell if I think its that bad. I plan on the 08 being my DD so a little higher won't hurt a whole lot. Anyone who's seen it, how does it compare to a Shelby GT for ground clearance?

Believe me I'll post pics as soon as that thing shows up!
