With drivers being equal, the R/T's are just not in the new 5.0 Mustangs range stock for stock in a straight line.
The older one, yes, the new 5.0's no. Ford stepped up their game and Dodge hasn't. Not sure my 6.1 when stock could take it?

The English major in me had a fit at the lack of punctuation in that post. Nothing personal, I'm just fussy.

power to weight is not everything but it is 90% of the equation.

power to weight is not as important as trying to launch a 6-speed.

do you know if the 5.0 was auto ?? if it was, the ONLY thing that you could have done to be more competetive was to have been running an auto in your Challenger.

if the 5.0 was a 6-speed, i'm sure you BOTH would have had launching issues, which would have been much closer.

but yeah, 5.0's even give 392's fits so don't feel bad.

What respectable car can an RT beat? I have a co worker who wants to race my RT. He has a 2003 VW GTI that is tuned with some mods. He is so sure he can beat me he wants to bet $500.

I have a 2010 RT. Mopar CAI Flowmaster A/T Cat-back and running 93 CAI tune. My coworker says because his car is lighter that he will beat me. I only know it has the turbo with it. I'm not sure what the other mods may exist. from what I can tell when I hear the car run it does not have a modified exhaust. I didn't know if he made that bet because he is bluffing. that is a lot of money that I just can't reach into my wallet for. What are some opinion out there?
