Thumbs up 17,000+ Challengers! **6-18-08**

FYI:
17,000+ Challengers have been ordered to this date,3450 of those are SRT8's.
The SRT8's are close to being sold out, very close here is why.
Best bet at this time will be an RT for 09 models as they are bringing out b5 blue for the SRT8's.
This means the remaining SRT8's will be held for the 09 b5 blue ,to roll out late this year.
Dodge must be very happy with all the advance sales rolling in.
You non believers I wish you luck..

First off I never speculate!
It came from Mike Acavetti via Mr Fredericks when we spoke on the phone today ..Only the facts my friend ,only the facts!
The 09 SRt8's are about all called for plain and simple.
Limited edition guys its been the reason why the SRT8's are so hot it is not like we didnt know this already it was anounced months ago.........Limited Edition !
5k total yearly what so hard to understand plus this isnt a Charger its a Challenger that makes a big difference!

17,000 pre-orders is incredible, in a one month period, considering that almost all were made based on photos, videos, and car show viewings!

You say the SRT8 is close to being sold out. Do you have facts to back this up or is this a guess? I don't want to cause any trouble, but would like to know if this is based on inside knowledge from a dealer or if it is something you are estimating.

NOTSURE- The 17,000 is for the '09 model only? It doesn't include the '08 model, right?

Re: 17,000+ Challengers! **6-18-08**

Facts or not it makes sense. Traditionally SRT8 production has been intentionally kept low because they want it to be special. If you look at the Charger/300 SRT8 they build about 5000 of each SRT8 per year.

Though I, too, am curious where this came from. 17,000 orders is AWESOME!

Re: 17,000+ Challengers! **6-18-08**

This is all speculation, or so I speculate If only 3450 SRT-8's were ordered, then I should have mine, or at least it should be being built, since I ordered in February. Its still not even being built.

Also, to hope the Challenger will save Dodge, who has the worst gas mileage overall as a company, is wishful thinking. I love my Dodges, but they are headed for trouble, with no real fuel efficient vehicles to sell. Even the V6 will not get great gas mileage, the car weighs a ton. They marketed the Hemi beautifully and were not prepared for this at all. As seen today, even their own CEO said to expect it to get worse:

Chrysler CEO warns staff of worsening sales
