Re: 2009 Challenger Buyers Guide GETRAG LIMITED SLIP ANTI SPIN

Just as I thought, no Limited Slip rear diff for the Automatic cars.

Mind you I don't know how official this document is. Axle was spelled Axel in one of the lines.

So is it a Getrag unit then and not a Quafe?

If so, I wonder how compatible the Getrag would be with the system electronics (ESP etc) if I install it on a auto car myself.

I don't care much for the ESP but I don't know how to turn it off. You can turn it off completely only on the 6spd cars. Apparently Automobile magazine test drove a Getrag prototype Challenger and said how awesome it performed and how the ESP lived in the shadow of the Getrag when sliding. It was 100% compatible with the pre-existing ESP. I don't know if they drove an automatic 2008 car with the prototype Getrag or if it was a 6spd.

Anyway, It's limited slip or bust! I happen to like automatics.

What they most likely mean is that the switch on manual is a permanent on/off (choice) , unlike the AOD's where every time you start the car - it turns ON by default and if you want it OFF you need to press that button ...... my Mazda6 is like so

Re: 2009 Challenger Buyers Guide

I'm pretty certain that the autos stability control isn't 100% defeatable.
Most manual cars with ESP or the like restart it everytime you turn the car on.

The automatic will still keep some esp on under all conditions.

Photos of the R/T show a 160 mph speedometer. The 5.7, however, has a speed limiter. The 6.1 does not.

Why would they put a speed limiter on the 5.7? are they planning to give us cheap stock tires or something?

Re: 2009 Challenger Buyers Guide

I hate all the option packages. I have to order a lot of stuff I don't want to get the few things I do want.
