2010 Electronics Convenience Group Change!

So I just took a look at my first 2010 Challenger R/T tonight at a local NJ Dealer. It was a J package 6 spd silver with the Electronics convenience group and a moonroof...that's it. So I look inside past the sticker with it's new improved base price, expecting to see the highly sought after steering wheel "convenient" controls and lo and behold...NO STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS! yup...ole Chrysler did it again! Apparently you must order: Steering wheel-mounted audio controls packaged with Uconnect Multimedia and Uconnect Navigation,
in order to get them. Just thought you guys and girls should know this before you go to your friendly clueless sales associate and order your new toy. I don't know offhand what those options cost but you need to do it to get the controls. I'm very curious how one would use the EVIC display without the use of steering wheel controls but I'm sure you can somehow. Anyway, unless they screwed up either the car, or the sticker, that's what I saw today, take it for what its worth.

I just ordered a 2010 RT 27J with EVIC....I'll be pissed as hell if it doesnt have steering wheel controls.

I just my dealer a question asking for specifics. I might have to change my order if I still can....dont want to pay for a package with half the stuff I'd want missing.

It would be nice if we could build a 2010 on line. Then we could see what comes on them. Doesn't make much sense to build a 2009 since they are done producing them.
But...that's the Chrysler way.

I just found out that my six speed R/T with EVIC and Sunroof is already made and at the dealership. It won't be shipped to me for another week or so(have already waited 8 months), but I checked my windowsticker online and saw that the steering wheel mounted audio controls were not listed, and EVIC was a little cheaper than last year. I will know for sure when I get the car, but it's probably true. I'm pretty disappointed, but a six speed and a hemi is the real reason to get this car, and I'm sure I'll forget about steering wheel mounted controls pretty soon. I hope that the hidden 0-60 timer is still there, but it's not the end of the world if it isn't; at least I'll be driving in my dream car... 8 months of dreams.

This is becoming a bummer to hear....if thats the case I might drop the EVIC if I still can and just go HID instead.

The steering wheel AUDIO controls are included only with the MyGIG radios (with or without navigation).

Without the steering wheel controls, you wont be able to get to it even if its still programed into the evic.

I was in shock yesterday when I picked up my 2010 Challenger (rolled over from an 09) and there were no steering wheel controls!!! At first I thought the plant must have screwed up!! I asked my dealer about it and he said you need to have MyGig or Sound Group II for that option. I couldn't believe it!! To tell you the truth it doesn't look as bad as you'd think with out it. It gives it more of a retro/muscle car look. I'm keeping the car!

Cheers!!
