Okay, so Dodge won't give us exact production numbers except that they build 400 Furious Fushcia SRT Challengers in 2010. So, what is to stop us from figuring out the breakdown on our own cars.

So, we are gonna break production down to two basics like in the 60s & 70s to Hardtop/Sunroof with either 6spd/auto only. No other options will be posted. Include your car's ID Plate # 1 of 400 to varify. Also, if you have "Correct" knowledge of others please post them. Thanks!

287 U.S. Built . . . 113 Canada = 400 Total Production
There are Three (3) possible Pilot (pre-Production) SRT Cars built too.
Cars were built between August 2010 to September 2010

Example Info . . .
Car # 100 of 400 . . . 6spd - Sunroof (US)
Car # 136 of 400 . . . 6spd - Hardtop (US)

Also, Post your MDH Number w/Badge Number, then we will be able to tell what your Build Sequence was. The MDH is on a sticker of your Driver's side door. It stands for your Month/Day/Hour. Your Car's Build Number does not match it's Sequence of Build on the Assembly Line.

081109 . . . August 11 9am
081113 . . . August 11 1pm

Post your MDH number with the badge number then you will be able to tell what your
build sequence was. The MDH number is on the sticker on your drivers side door, it stands for Month/Day/Hour.

It is a six digit number. Example

081109 = August 11th 9AM
081113 = August 11th 1PM
081722 = August 17th 10PM And so on.

With the MDH included you will be able to tell the exact build order from the first car to the last car. The order of two or more cars built on the same day is determined by the time of day the car was built. The badge numbers DO NOT tell you the order the cars were built.

With the MDH included you will be able to place the cars in the exact order they went down the assembly line. That would be pretty cool !!!!!!

Seeing as there were only 400 srt8's built it would be very easy to figure out.

Since your a little late to the "gather info" game (best to get it while guys are on here waiting for them to arrive) this might help...

http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f5/official-furious-fuchsia-owners-thread-50982/

Not sure how many guys who posted in the above thread when they were on the lots are still posting these days.
But there is still some production info guys collected back in the thread.... as well as in the sigs of the posters.

Actually the information I'm gathering is not in that Thread. But thanks for thinking of the FF owners best interest. I already posted this thread there.

The serial number does tell you what car was first to last, the lower the last 6 numbers of your serial number the closer you are to the first Challenger off the line I was told. 292109 went down the line before 295458 however there may have been 20 Challengers between them as well as many Chargers and 300's but the lower serial number means more than the dash plaque.

#16 ·
True . . . The Car ID #er on the dash ... ex: #136/400 refers to the order your car was received when the Dealer placed it. Thus the correct Car ID. However, it does not mean it was the order it was built. As ChargerR/T points out. Thus your your Dash Number is the "Official Number" and not your VIN.

The Vin only gives you the proper sequence it rolled off the Assembly Line during production...Confused??? Don't be!!!

We have #236 serial 292109 Canada sunroof automatic

Actually the dash plague doesnt even matech order date, it was placed on the cars in the lot willy nilly in no particular reason or system i have been told. Guy is given a bag of tags and sent out to place them. None of the paper work you receive with your car shows the plague number.

If you ever got the chance to watch the Discovery Channel's "Ultimate Factory Builds: Dodge Challenger" you'll notice that the dash for each car are installed complete into each car. That means the Dash Plaque is also installed and part of the install and build.

They do not go around after the fact installing either a regular Challenger nameplate or Challenger SRT one. Everything is assembled online as it is assembled.

Hopefully, this will end the rumor

Dash Plaque Car ID #ers are as the Orders where received from the dealerships. Yes, certain people who had connections did request and did receive particular numbers.

I don't doubt the sincerity of your attempt to document these cars, and I applaud the attempt, but it might be helpful if you do an exhaustive study of all the threads running on this website during that time. We had people taking pictures at the factory and at the "Ground Effects" site where the stripes were applied post production, that showed as a matter of fact, that the dash plaques were added at a much latter time. The explanation offered and the method which was used to place these plaques came from a "Ground Effects" worker who was very familiar with how things were being done. The company supplying the plaques was late in delivering them to Dodge, hence their addition to the cars after they left the production facility in Brampton. I don't doubt that certain numbers were reserved for certain well connected cars, but the majority of the numbers were randomly assigned by the guy given the bag of plaques at the "Ground Effects" facility. I think they are located in Windsor.

In summary, it may take you some time, but you will be able to verify this info by researching the historical record on this site.

As you have suggested, I had done prior to signing up in January on CT as a so-called Lurker...lol...Not only for the Furious Fuchsia cars but also PCP, GWE, DY and others and have most to that info on all colors. In addition, I've visited other forums doing the same.

So, unless you can provide some of what you have talked about and may have knowledge of all FF owners would greatly appreciate any additional imput that you may have otherwise then what I have exhausted.

It is true that stripes are added after build for any car with a stripe package, so I agree with that point...The ash Plaques I don't agree. Show me the money proof...lol...for lack of a better term.

What's interesting is the way the cars were shipped, Linda's car was one of the first to get shipped to a dealership and her number was 184, fully loaded car.

Thank you SubLime for the thread. It took multiple hours to read all 64 pages. I saw the photo of the car that is referred to. I stand corrected on when the Plaques were applied to the FF SRTs, but doesn't change what I've said otherwise.

Do you think or believe it pauseable that they were afixing the correct Dash Plaques to the cars as they were received from the Dealerships as Orders where received at the factory and not just randomly applying them? That would be the logical explaination in my book.

It would appear that none of the SRT's (perhaps none of the Challengers) have the dash plaques installed with the dashes as their dashes are installed on the line.

It might be an assumption but maybe all of the SRT Furious Fuchsia's went to a trim area where all of plaques were installed all at one time according to how they were parked?

One SRT is in Texas with #267 & I'm in California with #269. I would believe that they were randomly installed.

Srt8 ff #92

Checking in as we have #92, six speed w/sunroof built 081812. Lol, haven't driven it much as we just got it on May 15th. Dealer had a hard time selling it so we beat them up on the price. I had been looking at this car for a long time and I remembered the first time I saw it. I was at the dealership picking up an oil filter for the Jeep and they had two, one R/T and the SRT. I remeber walking up to it thinking it would be an auto and I was stunned to see a six speed. Every once in a while I would 'go' out of my way to look at it and it would still be there, but now it was wearing plates. The dealer ended up buying it from Dodge as they wanted to write off the depreciation and let the general sales manager drive it. He only put on 2700kms.
Finally I thought what the heck, I'll buy it if the price was right. We took it for a spin and it kinda ran lousy till it warmed up. I figured they were running regular in it. I asked the dealer if they had changed the oil and they said all their cars are serviced regularly. On a hunch though we changed the oil the day after we got it and as suspected the oil was original.
Car runs great now with two tanks of 94 octane thru her and a fresh oil change. The only way you could attract more attention with this car is if it were on fire, lol.
Damn oil filter.......:icon_lol:

This car was a steal, I looked at this car and passed because it was not an automatic, good luck with it.

I have been able to pick up bits and pieces at random of Cars with missing info. I'm posting them in POST #1 in this thread but not including them in the official count until info is complete. So, if anybody can help contribute to them or other cars please do so by posting. Thanks!

Wow! This is a remarkable Thread. To date, there has been 1,364 views and only 29 posts with info. Apparently there are more enthusiasts interested in facts than owners of these cars on ChallengerTalk. I guess, we may never find out the actual breakdown of these Special Models except that there were only 400 SRT models built.

So, what gives??? Will we ever really know the extent of the breakdown between Hardtop and Sunroof with trans choice. These are the facts that make the 1970-74 Muscle Cars interesting and valuable. I guess in the future enthusiasts will pay someone like Galen Grovier to tell them just how Rare their 2010 FF SRT really is.

There is never no BAD info, just an intrepidation as to what happens...

Example: running around randomly installing Dash Plaque Numbers out of the bag. I don't disagree on principle just the philosophy.

On another subject or two: Received info that items on the FF cars could carry 2011 model year part numbers. Like HID blubs...

Also, those having trouble locating TOUCH UP Paint...
Tube w/Brush ....pn 516372AA ... $10.45 (as of 6/12/12)
Spray Can ... pn 516373AA ... $10.60 (as of 6/12/12)
