Peices are starting to come together!

A total of 392 "392 Inaugural Editions" will be built for the Canadian market...

--RS
Now it makes sense.....1,100 for the US market and 392 for CAN.....1,492 as stated in the press release. ..

I'm like a kid on his way to the candy store....knowing I'll get there...just not knowing when...........
excited and enjoying the process and all the info I come across......

Not yet D1...hopefully this coming week

All I can do is wait

Does anyone know if there will be an upgrade to the synchros in the 2011 6 speed (composite vs. brass) to eliminate - I hope - the "nibble."

Green With Envy

I went to the dealer today and they have the paint chip for the GWE. My son did not like it but I think we will just have to see what it looks like on a car. too hard to tell from the paint chip. But after seeing it I am afraid they will not do Sublime. It seems to be the same thing they did to Panther Pink. I hope I am wrong. Wish we had some more info and if I missed anything please let me know. I have waited all these years for the Sublime should I just give up? Any ways I will be at SEMA on Tuesday so I will see what they have to offer. I would buy one of those 1492 but that blue is just too dark for me. Looks great but I like the loud colors.

They did just order a 1492 for another customer that just got his VIN and they said it should be in 12/5 would also sell me one for MSRP and no extra. I am tempted but that color...........going to wait.

Well if it's a nice lime color, similar to Viper snake skin green then I think that might look pretty good. I too am a sublime lover but if the GWE was the right shade it just might do for me. Now the one big question. Will we be able to get it on RT and SRT? Just for the record. None of the impact colors are the same shade as the originals.

GWE

I think it was more lime colored than the SSG on the Viper. I should go look at it again or maybe I will luck out at SEMA and see one there in the color. If it is more lime then you are right I will have to go for it. Those books at the dealer have such a small chip in them it is hard to tell what it would look like on a car. I am also wating to see that RedLine Charger. That is really appealing as well. We have a 2006 Daytona now but that new redline paint is tempting. I will take pics at SEAM and post them on my face book page after I get back.

Pricing info!

If you want the Challenger looks but don't need the honkin' V-8, you can pick up a 305-horsepower V-6 SE for a base price of $24,670, and an available Rallye Package adds $2,000 to that price.

Opt for the Challenger R/T, with its 5.7-liter V-8, and you'll shell out at least $29,670. A "Plus" Package brings the total to $31,170, and buyers who choose the Classic Package will pay $32,970.

None of those prices include the $825 destination fee.

As for the 470-horsepower SRT8 392 with its 6.4-liter V-8, the base price is $42,555. That's just a little over a $1,000 more than the $41,230 starting price for the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Again, that price does not include the $825 destination fee. Nor does it include any gas-guzzler tax, and while EPA fuel-economy certification hasn't been performed yet, it's almost a given that the SRT8 392 will get slapped with the guzzler tax.

You are a pretty positive person huh?

The Shelby is quite a bit more than the basic SRT. Buy an SRT and put a supercharger on it for the cost of a Shelby.

Good luck.

Cant say I blame you. I owned a 2010 Camaro along with a Dodge Challenger.. I would stay away from the Camaro.
I have never been a Ford fan but I think they are building a quality car. I just want a bigger muscle car look and the Mustang does not do it for me and wont for you either.
If I were you I would give Dodge another try.. get a 2011 392.
My 2009 SRT8 had no issues ever.. I loved it and I was a Chevy guy all my life..

Sucks that you've had so many issues. I've owned a 2008 Charger Daytona Edition since June of '08 and haven't had any problems other than a bit of squealing from the brakes and a fogged up right headlight assembly. Honestly the most solid car I've ever owned. Looking forward to my 2011 392.

Ordering a 2011 Challenger

I want to order a 2011 Challenger, but I've never ordered a new car from factory before, so I was hoping to get some feedback. I did some searches in this thread as I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but I just got bits and pieces.

First, I can go out and do this tomorrow, correct? If I can do it now, should I go now, or wait til they are officially released? Any advantages/disadvantages one way or the other?

What about price? In terms of negotiation, you pretty much have to pay what they say, no? If you're buying what's on the lot, you have a little leverage because they are trying to clear inventory. Ordering you don't have the same advantage, correct?

I picked up in this thread that you have to pay a deposit. Generally, how much is that? I'm sure it varies, but is it a percentage or simply up to the dealer?

Lastly, has an official release date been determined? I had a dealer contact me today trying to sell me a 2010 and when I said I was waiting for the '11's, she said those won't be out until mid '11 at the earliest, because they are still ordering '10's. Personally, I think she was just trying to push me into a '10.

Any and all info/feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks.

my 2011 is due 12/20/10

i ordered it over a month ago

i paid under sticker

your not going to get $3k off or anything like that, but $500-$750 off sticker is what they seem to be going for....some are paying $1000 over sticker

if you want your car now do it, if you'd rather wait 8 months to save $1,000 then wait

Just curious. How do you figure that 470HP and 470lb-ft of torque is weak?
Just what percentage of other car models on the road are in that class?

It's not a viper or a corvette.
It's not a tiny pony car (mustang, camaro).
It is what it is--a large, *comfortable* cruiser, that is also very quick.

I don't get why so many people dog it for not having viper performance. Viper's are *tiny*, challengers are *large*, yet they still get <5s 0-60!

I honestly bet that the 392 can get into the low 4's. There are R/Ts that have hit 4.7--it doesn't seem like such a stretch.

I look forward to seeing some actual run results with them now that they have a few for the media to play with.

you could wait 2 more years for the Cuda, or you could wait 4 years until it gets faster, or another 4 years until something better comes out, or 8 more years until yet something even better comes out...in the end something better will always be rumored or coming out next year......the Cuda is just a rumor and i wouldnt wait for something that may or may not be available....

i was going to wait for 2012 for the 8 speed, but decided to buy now since once 2012 comes out there will be something rumored for 2013 that will make it even better....it never ends, something better is always on the horizon

my valve body in my tranny would cause severe slamming in and out of gears!!
Since no dealer would actualy look into any of my trouble it caused more! Like breaking first Axel.the problem with tranny has been there before I put predator in! And I won the mopar cai from track experiance !and put a catch can in it with a 180 jet stat ! None of these mods should result in no damages! Predator is can tune 93.I have had a lot of issues with this car !! The dealer wear my car is is still tryin to fix things!I took it back to them a couple months ago for sever noise in rear end and numerous other items I took them notes and details of everything wrong with car and told them my son graduates in two weeks and he lives in another state I would like these items addressed . So two weeks go buy they say car Is ready I go pick it up greese all over inside jusyt horrible well left dealer went across street got gas then drove 1/2 a mile from dealer and broke the rear end! Now I am broke down again! Iam not hard on this car ! If they would do there job I'd Probably be ok! With my car allthough there are alot of other issues!
I did not throw headers,exhaust,cam,heads,supercharger,ect.....this car should handle my mods with out interuption!!

I must be missing how this pertains to information about the 2011 Challenger?

Well you need to find a new dealer to work with. If it was my car and I went to pick it up after all these visits and it was full of grease as you say, I would of told the service manager off and left it there until it was COMPLETELY done.

Thats my .02

huggytree - do you have actual invoice with pricing on your 2011? I ordered one on 9/23 and still don't have pricing. I'm getting the employee discount so there was no negotiating, but before I mentioned it I was getting about $1250 below sticker.

Mine is due on 12/09.

I went to a Montreal, Quebec Canada dealer at lunch time: still no pricing, but some specs: Base is still SE, SXT now seems to have heated leather seats as standard, and Super Sport package is confirmed as available in Canada, as is Rallye (both on SXT only). French-translated color names are a bit misleading as Blackberry Pearl is called blue, and Toxic Orange is yellow!!!
Still waiting on pricing to decide between a leftover 2010 R/T Classic (at 36.5k, 4.5k under MSRP) or a 2011 SXT w/Super Sport package...

All SRT seats have a suede insert with tiny holes that I've ever seen.

Any idea what changed for the 6.4 Hemi SRT8 models in regards to headers/exhaust manifolds, exhaust, and mufflers?

What does the new motor and exhaust sound like compared to the old 6.1?

Thanks, Rob
