Resume thanks for the info, just wondering if D. yellow, B5 Blue, plum crazy will also be offered for 2011?
If I had to guess, I would probably say "no" for 2011. But don't rule anything out, "predicting" future impact colors can be difficult as often times there are last minute decisions and changes. I would certainly expect several brand new impact colors in the 2011 and beyond model years. I understand that the plant can now produce specialty colors in small volume runs in a special booth area. This was mainly put in place for fleet sales, but if applied to retail vehicles the possibilities could be endless.

It's nice that the '11 models are bringing such a wide variety of new colors. Almost all of the color palette is being replaced, for not only the Challenger but the 300 and Charger as well. The new tri-coat colors are going to look really sharp. Some of the Lexus and Cadillac models use them for anyone that wants to get an idea of what tri-coat paint looks like.

No offense to some of you guys, but I really REALLY hope they do NOT make Plum Crazy for 2011. It was supposed to be a limited production. I enjoy not parking next to myself anywhere I go. I got the 2010 because it finally came in the color I was looking for. I opted to not wait for the 2011 because I thought it was going to have MDS no matter what, which I hate the idea of. So, if they make a 6.4L Plum Crazy without MDS and with proximity entry, I'm going to be upset. I can live without the 6.4 and the proximity as long as I get to keep the uniqueness of my color.

As far as pricing goes, a little higher is ok. The market will get flooded with el cheapo "me too" cars (Mustangs), and Camaros while those of us who appreciate what the Challenger is rather than what a price tag says can enjoy not being the "there goes another one" guy.

On the way to work yesterday, I counted 3 (yeah, 3) yellow Mustangs, a couple of blue ones, a silver one, a few red ones, and a couple of black ones just on the highway (which is only a 25 mile trip one way). I also counted several Camaros. How many Challengers? Just me, baby. I have yet to see another Plum Crazy Challenger outside of the dealership that I got mine from (which is quite a hike away).

BTW, it does help that I live in a town with a population of less than 40,000 and work in a town with a population around 100,000. I'm sure I'd see more of all the cars in a bigger city.

Edit: I still have not seen a yellow Challenger. Didn't anyone buy that one? It looked sweet at the dealership. I've seen a B5 blue R/T Classic that was pretty nice looking too.

For your sake, I hope they leave it (Plum Crazy) off the option sheet as well. I bought Hemi Orange for the same reason almost two years ago and they're still making it (in fact my local dealership has 6 of them on the lot). Feeling an awful lot like a belly button.............

in regards to the Italians (Fiat) not caring about the Hemi, I happened to run into a engineer from Fiat and we wound up talking about the Challenger, gee imagine that from me. Anyway the first thing he asked me was "how is Fiat being received by Americans" regarding their ownership of Chysler. I simply told them I am glad that Fiat stepped in to help Chrysler survive and that was a good thing. This will also allow Chrysler to get into the small car market that they so need. But then I said that while Chrysler needs the small car market, I also talked about how important the Hemi is to Chrysler / Dodge and the Mopar faithful are there because of the Hemi. This is the part of Chrysler / Dodge that you do not want to mess with. The response I got was the same that Sergio has said in public. The Hemi is part of Chrysler and the face of Dodge and Ram, we understand that and in no way do we intend to mess with what is a true success for the company. For what it is worth I like that they were willing to ask a question that direct, my answer seemed to have been asked and answered by Fiat and understood. Anyway, for what it is worth I like that this seems to be understood, a mentallity that Hemi is the sacred cow that we must improve on.

What is an example of a tri-coat? Are there any cars out there now with a tri-coat paint. Would someone please explain to me?

Thanks, Rob
Lexus and Cadillac use tri-coat paint on some of their cars. This paint system uses a base coat, followed by a pearl coat, followed by a clear coat.

#150 ·
I can't wait to see these things!! I know there isn't much change overall, but a little improvement here and there is always nice! ;)

#157 ·
For the 2011 colors I think the "Green with Envy" will be color similar to a Kawasaki Dirt Bike or Sport Bike. I think the "Redline" might be a spectraflame paint job like a 60's Hotwheels car. I am glad they are not changing the Challenger much, but it might have been cool if they put a 71 grill and tail lights on it.

#161 ·
I read on another site that green with envy is the same as the viper snakeskin green from some guy at Carlisle that talked to a Chrysler engineer. Take it for what its worth, but unless ResumeSpeed verifies it I wont believe it till I see it. - I really love that color BTW.

Went back to the dealer today and he logged in and his choice of years was for 2010 and for 2011. Yes 2011! But he could only order a 2010. It shows all the new colors including the new red which I had no idea about until I saw it there. I was unaware that it was already discussed on the forum. It also shows the prices as well. But I saw it again today and he was more than willing to let me look at it since I am a very good customer of theirs and the option is always open to purchase another SRT..

Green with Envy (PGE)

Ok what's this? Is this the same as "snakeskin green that's on the Viper?
If it is, I am telling you it is NOT Sublime at all, I saw a snakeskin green viper and John Johnson Dodge. Don't get me wrong on a 120k Race Ready Viper with white stripes it looked cool, but it is NOT sublime, it is no the other crappy green they have on the other Dodge's.

They have at least made it...but man.. I am mad.. they make a Pink car, but they can't spray some Chally's with one of the most popular colors they had i tis not like they don't HAV the color they sprayed Chargers with them and people ate them up.

BTW- I have an Inferno Red Jeep, and it is nice, I like it better than the Torred.
But I wanted that Sublime.. oh well Dodge, you lost another customer.

I think they are waiting for one big announcement -- but you know what I am sick of this crap I have been waiting for almost 2 years.. forget it.

I will get the Camaro in Synergy, I am sick of this crap from Dodge, hell even if it a 6 - it still pops out 300 hp. and i am not waiting around for a "special edition 2012" model or some other crap.

So instead of settling on a different shade of green you're going to . . . buy a completely different car and settle on a different shade of green?

I know people have their preferences on color but it doesn't seem like you're too in love with the challenger if you're going to skip it entirely over which bright green it comes in.

When you are talking almost 40K I think you should get exactly what you want.

I most likely won't get the camaro (I was just pissed off) and get a R/T classic white w/black. but this yanking everyone around with colors and "holding back impact colors" is getting lame from Dodge.

A lot of us obviously believe color is king. That being said, I'm holding out for some form of green. Wanted sublime but will take a shade of snake skin any time. For the record, none of these "heritage" colors are the same shade as they were in the 70's.
I'm just hoping that the color will be available on both RT and SRT.
