...I finally broke down and bought a Camaro convertible...being a long time MOPAR guy, I've never owned a Camaro, I've never driven a Camaro, never even rode in one in 40 some years, but I wanted a convertible and the Chevy fit the bill

I had ordered a 2012 SS Camaro and since it was new, I drove one for the first time when it came in. Ended up not taking it as the small side windows and lack of head room and inability to see the speedometer just were too much to overcome. In addition, you felt like you were sitting on the ground. The convertible may be a little better as the roof is hollowed out because of the fabric. I now have a 2010 SRT8 and it is like night and day versus the Camaro. At least if you are getting a 2012, you will get the redesigned steering wheel. Good luck

If you want the HK system you will need to cancel your order:

HK Premium Audio System Update (Challenger) - Production is not set to start until the first week of November. Ordering will probably open up in late September/October.

If it's the same transmissions in both R/T and SRT8, why does the R/T lose 4HP going to the auto while the SRT8 does not?
Why would the mere existence of MDS on the 5.7L reduce it's max HP output while having no effect on the 6.4L? Simply some MDS design improvement for the 6.4L?

Thanks, RS. I guess it can't be any worse than the Kicker system in my 2010. I think I will stop by the dealer and listen to the regular system in an RT and see how it sounds. I don't understand why if the premium sound system is available in the RT, why Dodge does not offer it in the SRT. Same dash, same speaker openings, just a 7th speaker that is the subwoofer and a larger amplifier. It seems like the least that should be done for their top of the line Challenger while they are sorting out the issues with the HK system. I think I will stop by the Ford dealer and drive a Shelby GT 500 for comparison. They just got two in. I guess this stereo issue has just got me pissed off.

Placed my 2012 order on Monday, 6/20 and received order confirmation of D status today 6/24. Dealer informs me that sales code RHR (730N) is now standard on the SRT8 for 2012. Is that true? I only wanted the base (430) media center.
