General Challenger DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the Dodge Challenger. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
if your so excited to get a pcp challenger the best way is to wait until they show up at dealerships....ordered cars are typically/always LAST in line....i wouldnt order a car again from Dodge....mine sat in Canada for over a month while dealer cars would ship in 2-3 days.....they wont run out...they never do...youll find pcp challengers in dealer lots for 6 months or more
Actually ordered cars get preference.....My wife's Durango is an example....My dealer had 6 Durangos on order when we ordered my wifes'.........Her Durango was delivered in 5 weeks while only one of the dealers orders had even been built......My Challenger was built 2 weks after I ordered and delivered 6 weeks after being ordered.....the delivery problem is usually the transportation company....

I have another question for you Selecter. I noticed that you are from California as am I. Why is that you are ordering from Baxter who is in Nebraska? Thanks again!!
I'm ordering from Lee for the following reasons.
1) He gets back to my questions right away. If i ask him something he'll respond within the day. The dealers in Socal took a week to even get me a quote. My other questions they haven't been able to answer at all.
2) Lee quoted me the cheapest price I've received the very first time he contacted me. He didn't need to my phone # to chat or email me 5 times before he got around to getting me a price. He gave me all the info in his first email with no BS.
3) He knows about the car and has a great reputation. I was talking to a local owner at my work last week and he knew who Lee was and had great things to say about him, which says a lot. There is a reason that you find guys in CA and Florida who order their cars from Lee at Baxter. They are cheap, do a great job and know what they are talking about.
Thats been my experience so far, which since i've in been in contact with Lee has greatly improved over my experience with the local dodge dealers here in so cal.

It's a sadly common experience that local dealerships jerk people around on orders. They will play games, trying to get you to buy the inventory they have, or to trade through another dealer. The salespeople are trained to sell what is on the lot, they may not know anything about how cars are ordered and stocked.
Sometimes a local salesperson tries to be helpful, takes down ordering information, but it never gets entered by the purchasing authority at the dealership. Or it's ordered incorrectly. Or the dealership doesn't have allocation, and the customer and salesperson alike both become frustrated trying to understand what's going on.
Not all local dealers are this sloppy of course, but it's a good idea with a local order to have them walk you to the room where it's done, and watch them key in every option on the computer, and give you an ordering code.
Internet dealers avoid all that - they just want to know what you want, and where to ship it, and will do it with minimal markup.
I'm ready to order my RT, and all I have to do is decide on the color. I'm leaning red after seeing a red Tricoat at the dealer.
I just heard Tored is going to be available this year. Can you guys tell me if that is more orange, or more red than the red tricoat?
I have a torred SE... the best way to explain it is a red/orange crayon. It is red but a very bright red in full sun. However, in the fall against a red burning bush the car looks somewhat orange... PM me if you want pictures

TorRed R/T Classic ordered: 4/06/13
Torred is much more traditional sports car red, whereas Redline Metallic is a very dark red with a ton of metallic in it.
Here is a shot of the three reds offered on the Challenger: Torred (2009-2010 and now returning for 2013), Inferno Crystal Pearl (2009- 2010), and Redline (2011 - ?)

I bought my car from Lee Baxter as well and do not anticipate buying a Dodge from anyone else. 95% of my transaction was through email and it could not have gone any smoother!

Roost, how did you receive your car when it was ready? Did you go pick it up or have it delivered?
