They did that because sales were in the tank and the Media continued to bash the car saying it was the worst/cheapest quality car sold in North America. They also had high volume to spread the costs over.

My step-dad and a buddy both have a 2012 Charger SRT8 and I personally don't want that interior for the Challenger. It's nice and all but it wouldn't fit our cars.

I also don't care for that giant 8+ inch touch screen, too jumbled with a billion things and it's not that responsive/smooth.

I don't have any complaints with our cars interior as-is; the only thing I hated was the steering wheel and that was fixed in 2012.

wait a second so according to this that means that the production for the Hemi orange challenger starts on Late april? or that it ends on late april?

as it is my favorite challenger color :\ and I think 2013 might be the year I buy one I was going to buy one this month but I might as well wait for the 2013 models...

#328 ·
I would agree... Interior color is too dark. That is why I like the sunroof. You can open the shade and lighten it up. I hardly open the glass though.

#329 ·
This is what my 2013 RT interior will look like: (RLDR)
The 100% all red in the SRT is kinda too much..

#345 ·
I had it all worked out to trade my charger in for an orange or purple r/t classic until I realized that there are none within 500 miles. Now it is a waiting game for these colors to be released. I hate having to delay but look forward to ordering as soon as they are available. Maybe I can figure a way to keep my charger and have the Challenger as a weekend car. Keep on scratching those lottery tickets.

No Blue Streak Pearl for 2013?

I was looking at ordering a 2013 SRT8. Unfortunately I want the BSP, and the places I've looked and the dealership that I asked only have Jazz Blue listed for 2013. Is it possible that BSP will be released at another time or have they gotten rid of that option all together since this posting? Any updates would help, this is looking rather upsetting at the moment. :ugh:

Yea, I did see that in the original post; been lurking around this site for about a month doing research. Only problem is that I can't order a BSP Challenger if I can't select BSP as a color... the underlined ones are the only ones they listed as available. I'll keep pestering them for updates, just wondering if anyone here had anything else to further confirm these color selections since Chrysler could cancel the indefinite ones any day.

That's one thing I've learned in the Army; it's not official unless it's on paper and in my hand!

EDIT: Just noticed another thread about 2013 colors, looks like I'll just have to remain patient.

In a Challenger application Sublime is supposed to look non-metallic. That's the point, to duplicate the 1970 Sublime/LimeLight colo(u)r as close as possible, so the look is retro, not modern. Most of us who have been looking for Sublime know this, love this, and embrace it. Although it says Sublime Metallic, the less it looks metallic the happier we are. If we'd wanted metallic we would have settled for GWE.

Jazz Blue Pearl Coat (PBX) - 09/03/12
Billet Metallic Clear Coat (PSC) - 09/17/12
Phantom Black Tri-Coat Pearl (PXT) - 11/12/12
Plum Crazy Pearl Coat (PHG) - 02/04/13
Hemi Orange Pearl Coat (PLC) - 04/29/13
High Performance Red Clear Coat (PR3) - 05/06/13
Sublime Metallic Clear Coat (PFB) - 05/27/13

ResumeSpeed, is Jazz Blue Pearl Coat similar to or replacing Blue Streak Pearl?

#368 ·
I think Copperhead pearl is a nice color. My wife thought it was also so she got a Compass with that color.

Parked next to my Toxic. If they came out with it on the Challenger might have to consider it and say bye to Toxic, not going to happen.:saythat:

:SM002: What is the deal with Dodge? Now there is no BSP offered for the 2013MY? I have been patiently waiting for 2013 order banks to open so I could order a 2013 BSP SRT8. Also in hopes there would be a 6.2 SC option!! You know the Challenger is the best looking muscle car between Dodge,Chevy, and Ford but let me tell you Dodge just doesn't have their stuff together as well as Ford or Chevy!! It takes them way too long to bring a product to fruition!! And then when they do it is no telling what colors will be offered!! I don't want to settle for the same old blah standard colors. They finally bring back a blue that is a very respectful color but cut it off short! And Jazz Blue looks way too dark as far as I can tell. You might as well choose Black. Is there any hope at all that BSP will return for 2013MY or 2014MY? I don't mean to sound so negative but when you get your hopes up for a car and color that you are excited about and the rug is pulled out from under you it can be disappointing!Maybe I will just settle for a 2012MY BSP SRT8 and just be happy with BSP and 392?

:Maybe I will just settle for a 2012MY BSP SRT8 and just be happy with BSP and 392?
My two cents: See if you can find a 2012 BSP SRT8. It will essentially be exactly the same as a 2013 anyway - and you might be in a position to make a better deal.

But I understand your frustration - I'm a diehard Mopar guy - but I can't help looking over the fence at Ford and GM - they are so far ahead of Chrysler right now in terms of muscle car options and performance. Come on Chrysler - step up to the plate!

#372 ·
Yeah, it is frustrating. I wanted yellow. But frankly, I would have taken almost any color as long as it's a Challenger. I just love the car. Maybe I'm the market they're after.

#373 ·
How's this for a theory?

I'm feeling it'll be similar to the Barracuda/Challenger of yesteryear. They'll both be on the same new smaller platform, but Barracuda will have a different front/rear end & straight body line. It'll now be the halo car badged under the SRT brand (think ZL1 & Shelby GT500). The Challenger will continue with the SXT, R/T & 392 under the Dodge brand as "the people's" car. :lookaround:

Except that the ZL1 and Shelby GT500 are still proudly labeled "Chevrolet" and "Ford" respectively. It's a crying shame that Chrysler no longer thinks the Dodge name is worthy of it's trucks, the Viper, or future halo muscle cars.

SXT = V6 Camaro and V6 Mustang
R/T = GT Mustang and SS Camaro
392 = Boss 302
6.2 SC = ZL1 and GT500

Camaro convertible and Mustang convertible - Dodge???

I would imagine when the new car comes out, this will be their competitive breakdown unless the 392 becomes the standard engine in the R/T . I doubt it though. I bet the 6.2 SC will be an option package on the SRT rather than a stand alone model.
