2013 Hemi-Orange is Header Orange?!

I was at the dealership today debating whether I wanted to risk the timing chain debacle and get a Jazz Blue RT auto, it drove so well that it might be worth the risk, when I picked up a 2013 brochure and flipped through it. There is the same Header Orange Challenger picture that was in the 2012 brochure with small print reading "Hemi-Orange late availability. So I made a comment to the salesman about the advertising people having their collective heads up and locked when he told me that Header Orange will now be the Hemi-Orange. What!! I repeated back to him to get a clarification, Header Orange not the Red Orange will be Hemi-Orange now? Yep. Say it ain't so. I can't believe that but he said it with such conviction not a throw away line that you usually hear. All I can say is I hope not.

You know, even on the photo itself in tiny letters of the new USA version Challenger Brochure it says "in Hemi Orange R/T Classic" but the the photo looks more like Header Orange, so yeah I dunno.

Also they made Hemi Orange Challengers for 3 years but Header Orange was made for like a few months?? 6 maybe?? So that could be the reason why, I still think Hemi Orange was more popular (at the time) I guess we will wait and see!

Talking out of their asses.

RS has said there's a chance that HO might make a comeback as it was one of their most popular colors.

Calling Header Orange/ Hemi Orange would be like calling GWE/ Gecko Green.

The colors aren't even close in person.

I would be beside myself if that happened!! I have my rt classic options all picked out...just waiting for the chance to get my HEMI orange ordered. Not sure why Dodge is so secretive about colors coming out.

Colors in brochures were never the same as reality.
We have to wait and see, but I don't think Hemi Orange will look like any other color in production. It will be like the 2008-2010 Hemi Orange.

Never, EVER take a dealer's word on colors, engine availability, etc. The forums are the place to go for real info. I learned the hard way years ago, when more than one dealer swore up and down there would be no 350 engines in Camaros or Firebirds for 1987. I took their word on it, and bought a leftover '86 with a 305. I got a great deal, but 10 days after I got it, one of the dealers who told me they wouldn't make them had 4 350 Trans Ams sitting on the lot. One was equipped exactly the way I wanted it, no T-Tops. I was pissed, big time.

Stupid people were ignored, stupid dogs were taught why he was named King. Super big personality and brains in a medium sized package.

Exactly right. I dont think Ive ever met a saleman yet that knew more about the car I was buying (regadless of make) than I did. I do remember I had a friend that was going to sell BMWs and he had to go thru a school to learn about the cars so maybe they are the exception but your best info will be in online forums like this and on allpar.

That image in the brochures - its photo-shopped.

It was the same one used for the '11 GWE R/T classic brochure.

then got changed to Header Orange for the '12 R/T classic image

Header Orange - brighter shade (less red pigment, no pearl)

Hemi Orange - more red pigments and has pearl.

Its difficult in pictures, but in actual car in daylight - no mistaking the two colors. Header Orange is much brighter (think Creamsicle or Vitamin C/Go-Mango from the old days...)

2009 R/T 27J pkg (6 speed MT) ordered 7/17/08, born 10/23/08, home 11/13/08

Eibach Sportline Suspension * Hotchkis Sway Bars
Razor's Edge rear tension arms * Nitto 555 Extreme 265/50-18"
392 Cam & DiabloSport CMR tune
Hurst /G&K modded short-throw shifter
'70 Challenger R/T graphics (hood/bodyside) * Black gauge faces, lighted needles

2013 Hemi-Orange is Header Orange?!

Most sales people are only interested in selling the lot stock . They don't want to wait around for your order to arrive two months later to get their due . So they never stick their heads in the order codes and would not know HO from a hole in the ground .
Take whatever they say with a big grain of salt .

I didn't think the '12s and '13s had timing chain issues. I thought they had isolated it to mainly '10 MYs with a few '09s and '11s.
