Yep, the Nissan guys used the Porsche 911 Turbo as their benchmark. Early performance reviews show that they met or exceeded that benchmark in pretty much every area - at around half the price. The GT-R is a helluva vehicle.
And while it's also a good looking vehicle, it doesn't elicit the same emotional response that the Challenger will. These two vehicles aren't going after the same consumer. The Challenger is a big, bold straight-line car designed to turn heads and go fastest in a straight line while making a lot of noise doing it. Thanks to modern components and technology, it'll run circles around a (stock) 70's Challenger - but it hasn't been calibrated to do the same things that a GT-R will on a twisty-turny track.
All different vehicles in question. All good vehicles. And ultimately, I would like to see how the Challenger compares to all of them. Just to get an idea of where Dodge is at.
