392 Hemi

Has anyone heard any rumors on the 392 hemi with 500 horses yet? I understand that if they produce this car on the current LX platform, it will probably be only a 6.1 hemi. If they wait until the new LY platform comes out, it may be possible that the 392 which is being developed now may go into the car. I will be violent if I buy the 6.1 version and then Dodge comes out with the 500 horse version. Also, I understand that only the Hemi will be offered and only with a 6 speed(which is just fine), no other choices, any word?

Not a rumor. However at this point it is stated that it will be a crate motor only.

DCX would be foolish to let the GT 500 and the Z06 have all the glory. I, personally opt for the big elephant; 7 litre 4 2 6 !! That's right. DCX, build this one and you will need to double your workforce to keep up.

If the 6.1 is the baddest engine offered, they better figure out how to get at least 475 ponies out of it. Low 400 hp range just doesn't cut it anymore!! Not unless you weigh 2800 lbs.

The 5.7 Hemi has a Comp cams 268 camshaft that produces 490 HP. The 6.1 Hemi will soon have aftermarket parts that will far exceed the 500HP figure.

Yea,..and the 500 hp cars will soon be making 600hp,with few less expensive mods!!Dcx better put at least a 6.4l 500+hp motor in there for the srt-8 version,to cover all bases!!!
