3M Window Tint Chart and 15% Coupon!

I am looking at getting window tints and in my research of some of the new films that 3M has come out with, i found this very helpful chart comparing all of their tint lines and specs.

Needless to say, i was looking at the crystalline or ceramic series but numerically they don't justify the cost when compared to the color stable series. My big thing is to get a guarantee against color fade which color stable and up has a a lifetime guarantee. I also wanted a non-metallicized tint since it can affect all kinds of wireless transmission and GPS. I also plan to tint the windshield as least as possible to help reject UV rays. I like to see where i am going quite frankly.

I did take into consideration the tint % since i couldnt compare apples to apples more like galas to red delicious. There might be some visible differences but that will remain to be seen (pun intended) when i go down to the tint shop and check it out.

Expiring Dec 31, 2012, 3M is offering a 15% coupon for crystalline and color stable window films at 3m authorized dealer/installers.

Watch for the lines that may come up in your tint. There's a thread out there that has some pretty good pictures of the problem and a possible cure.

Tint getting scratched?

I'm running 25% on the sides and 18% on the back 3. I've only gotten 1 ticket about it so far. It's illegal to tint the side windows outside of factory where I live. Still it looks 100 times better with it than without.

As long as you have a quality tint, it should not scratch. I've had my 20% 3M tint for awhile now, and not a single scratch.

It's happened to mine and it's 3M. I just learn to live with it. I might go with the molmare option if I ever get it redone, but it doesn't bother me as much as when it first showed up.

It's only realy visable on my passenger side. Then again mines not a DD and fair weather, so the window is generally down more than it's up.

I am also trying to choose between the 3M chrystalline and color stable tints. What did you end up going with SuBXeRo? With the quotes I have got today, chrystal is $450, and color stable was for $250. Trying to see if the $200 difference is worth it.
