70's paint schemes? who wants them

i am thinking of painting the new challengers to 70's paint schemes for customers. i am an autobody technician and it has been a dream of mine to start a business of specializing in painting these great 70's colors on the new challenger.but i need some input on what would be a good price on charging for it and who would be interested? now when i plan to paint them i plan to take pride and the upmost care to paint them.ie: striping the car completly down and jamming and painting every inch.then hand wet sanding to mirror shine. everyones input would be great and it might be early to say but anyone interested i will be taking names. i am located in minnesota and would help out with whatever it took to get cars here thanks

Great idea but you may have competition from the factory. The 2008 Challenger will most likely be available in Orange pearl- same as the concept car. DCX is also testing the waters on other 70s colors, like sublime and banana yellow on the Chargers. Also, I believe that plum crazy may be offered.

DCX is the stock market symbol for Daimler-Chrysler Corporation. Everyone uses it as an abbreviation.

Re: 70's paint schemes? who wants them

Neighbor across the street from me when I was growing up had a 'Cuda, originally yellow.

Came home one day wearing a blue paint job with lace panels.

If I bought one in the copper-bronze color, I might be inclined to get panels like that painted on...

More than $1000, though, and I'd pass.

A full custom paint-job would automatically be out of my price-range.

Shaker hood mods will probably be very popular if not offered by factory.

Maybe some 18" magnum 500's with chrome outer ring, 67' style. More thoughts for aftermarket must haves.

Well, Dodge has remixed that color & mixed in a bit of Metallica termed Sublime Metallic ; at least for the Charger Daytona R/T :
