General Challenger DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the Dodge Challenger. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
my next project is adding an SRT cluster w/EVIC and the steering wheels controls. i know many people have beed trying to add these for many years now without success. i am officially making my attempt at this.
so far, i ordered the steering wheel switches and wire harness. i am looking for an '09 challenger SRT used cluster if anyone knows where one is. i can use the SuperBee cluster out of my other car for testing and until i find a challenger cluster.
there is a 0% success rate for all that have tried. i plan on being the first to crack this mystery.

haha, i wouldnt bet on it thats for sure. have you read the charger forums? the forum started september 07 and still after all this time and over 300 posts on the subject no one has gotten it working. you might wanna wait on ordering the rest of the parts....if you do decide to do it though good luck and hopefully you dont ruin your car
yeah, i read that thread over on the charger forums, even posted in it. But, i think i know the problem everyone else has, and i think i have the solution. i also have another car with the EVIC setup to study and compare.

Why would this be so hard? shouldnt you just beable to hook up all the wires replace the cluster and the steering wheel? ive never looked into this so i dont know.
everything in the car is controlled by one or all of the different ECU's in the car. just plugging something in doesn't make it work. features have to be enabled with a new vehicle configuration file.
the problem: everyone in the past has is the ablility to reprogram the config files. the answer: reprogram the TIPM to enable the remote steering wheels switches and the reconfigurable EVIC.
