Another dealer SCREWING by Glendale Dodge in St. Louis Missouri
After 2 days of phone tag My salesman just informed me that my 2008 Hemi Orange srt8 that I bought on 12/4/07 was probably going to be a 2009 lol. I told him that "it was not" because 2009's are not numbered and probably not going to be made in Hemi Orange nor have a carbon fiber hood stripe. I said that I was told that it was the first car ordered at there dealership and all dealers were getting at least one. His reply was that they were getting two other challengers but that they were already sold and that Chrysler chose to fill those two car orders before mine and he had no control over it. Yea right, let me put my boots on buddy. I saw an ebay auction several weeks after I bought my car by this dealership and they wanted big bucks for a Challenger. I am getting the shaft here big time and they expect me to just sit back believe there BS and say thats OK. When I walked into this Dealership to buy the car nobody there even knew that a Challenger could be ordered yet. now mine is not going to be made but they have sold the other Two they are getting. They obviously sold them for more money than my contract after they found out that they could. Now they are not going to honor my contract. Time to get an attorney involved. Any suggestions ? I can understand there greed and motivation but how can this be legal after they have had 4K of my money for 6 months. What really tears me up here is if I want a 2008 car now I have to scramble and pay extortion money over MSRP to some dealer to get one. Even if I sue them It cost me more money. I am so disgusted and disappointed that I wonder if I should just tell the Dealer and Chrysler to shove their Challenger up there -ss and walk away.

Forget the lawyer route. Do not pay over MSPR....You can always get a Bee or a Jeep SRT at below invoice. Best of luck. There are other dealers in St. Louis, as well as the Chicago area that will work with you.

Well I don't think you'll get the shaft that bad. It seems that ebay auctions are stuck and they're not selling. I think I've seen those cars on there for weeks now! I would be willing to bet that an 08 @ MSRP is doable right about now.

I noticed some of the ebay listings are now adding a best offer option due to the things not selling at the inflated prices they have listed them for.
Those are all the Challengers the dealers said they would get for us but chose to sell them one ebay instead.
Ill never buy from a salesman they are full of empty promises once they get that deposit I'll only go dealer direct as I had to eventually do with the 09 I ordered..

Do you have your order sheet with the VON (vehicle order number) if so, your name should be on the order.
Call Chrysler to make the formal complaint and check to see the status of that order, get the VIN and find out when it is expected to be delivered.
Once you have done that, call an attorney. Not just any attorney, a good sleazy one that will take it on contingency, let him have any money from the settlement just to make the dealerships life miserable.
The attorney will have an injunction and have the car held until there is a judgement made on the case.
What is cool about it is that the car will be held and not sold to either you or the jack off who bought it way over MSRP on Ebay!!!!
Thus creating a huge headache for the dealer, who knows you may just get a Challenger at a good price before you know it.
Remember these guys are the SCUM of the earth and should be treated as such.

what paperwork do you have that says you bought the car? did you pay cash for it? i know you are not going to like to here this, after all, i am "scum" as someone in this thread put it, but an order is not a purchase, even with a deposit. the only thing the dealer has to do is to give you your deposit back.
