Re: Anti Spin Limited Slip Sure-grip

I just wish that Chrysler would put the limited slip on the automatic R/T. Some of us can afford only one car that has to be a daily driver (rush hour traffic, gas costs).
Ultimately, when even the rear wheel drives (RWD) get dual clutch transmissions (DCT) (with the looming CAFE increases), it should make it even simpler. We have projections for FWD DCTs, but nothing yet for RWDs.

Re: Anti Spin Limited Slip Sure-grip

Well now I'm a little confused. Does the 2008 Challenger have a limited slip? From what Resume Speed said it seems that it does not.

He means the "Charger" SRT8 (and the Chrysler 300C SRT8) will have limited slip in 2009 for the first time. All 2008 "Challengers" (all are SRT8s) will have limited slip in 2008 (only that the 2009 limited slip's will be of a slightly different design).

I'd like to be given the opportunity to test a 2008 LSD and a 2009 LSD back to back, once in the rain and once in the dry.

Automobile Magazine should do a such a test. It would be right up their alley.

I can see the heading now, "Dodge Challenger 2008 LSD vs. Dodge Challenger 2009 LSD shoot out".

Although the difference may be whatever it is, I tell you, there is a world of difference between having the 2008 LSD component vs. nothing at all. A hat of any size will keep you from getting wet.

Re: Anti Spin Limited Slip Sure-grip

I truly believe for Dodge to be competitive, it should offer the limited slip in the 5.7L auto R/T Charger (and Challenger auto R/T). The Charger's chief competition is the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT which has limited slip. The G8 GT is similar weight, size, engine size/type (a small-block ohv design), power output and price as the R/T Charger.

Sure the SRT has it but so will the G8 GXP which will be the SRT's chief competion in 2009 (similar weight, size, engine size/type, power output and I don't know about the price yet).

Two groups of cars but Chrysler lacks in the first category with the Charger vs G8 shoot out with no limited slip.

I believe it will happen, just time will have to pass. Too many people will want it not to mention every police officer will want one too in their Chargers.
