No firm info available at this time as testing/certification is still ongoing. Best guesses will put it at around 375hp, give or take 10hp.

2) White paint?
Yes, Stone White Clear Coat will be offered on the 2009 base and R/T models.

3) Will there be stand-alone options or packages?
Option packages are still being put together but they will be somewhat similar to what is offered on the 2008 Charger models. Sunroofs will be a stand-alone option, most other options are grouped in packages.

ResumeSpd:

will the 6 cyl version have the "bulge" hood ? Any possibility of dual exhaust for the 6 banger? What differences body wise will there be between the 6 and 8 bangers?

When do you anticipate the dealer info brochures will start to show up at the dealers for the 09's?

Oh, do you have any insight on the Barrett Jackson auction in January: will the concept car be up on stage for the audience to see while they are auctionaing off the #1 production car? Any idea what day of the auction it will be on? I contacted BJ about this stuff and they came back to me with questions... go figure.

thanks

All models will have a functional hood scoop, but do not know if the hood will be any different between models (other than perhaps striping). The 6-cyl will have single exhaust. Do not know body differences other than the obvious (badges, wheels) and that the base model will not have the chrome fuel door. All versions will have body-color door handles, body-color fascias and satin/chrome grilles.

As I understand it they are going to open up the order banks during the first quarter next year, but I have not been able to confirm a date. Best guess is sometime between February-April. The dealers at this time will probably not have any actual brochures, just an order guide listing all of the features and options.

The concept car will be on stage. The auction bidding will run from January 15th to January 20th. Being that the Challenger is lot #1,331, and that they will want to maintain maximum publicity, my guess is that it will be auctioned on the last day, Sunday 20th. BTW, the SPEED channel will be televising the event.

Re: Any 2009 info yet?

ResumeSpd: thanks very much for the information. One more question: white interior as a choice for 09 or later ????

I'm about 3 hours from Scottsdale so I plan to attend the BJ auction.

again,
thanks.

Re: Any 2009 info yet?

Will Sublime be available on '09 R/Ts? I'm trying to decide between White and Sublime. Also, can anyone tell me if the Sublime like on the '07 Chargers is the exact same as the original Sublime on the '70 Mopars? Sometimes it looks close, but other times it looks way off. I know Sublime is a hard color to photograph though.

Re: Any 2009 info yet?

I'd look for the new Challenger to cross the block at B-J on Saturday -- not Sunday. It will be one of the premier lots, which normally come up on late Saturday afternoon or evening. As someone else noted, the concept will be on-hand for the event.

Stone White? Why don't they just call it light beige? Why can't they sell a real white?

I agree. I'm getting tired of the Charger colors being rehashed every year.
