Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???

Actually the entire purpose of a "production model spyshot" is to see the difference between the Awesome concept they tease us with that they COULD build... And the production CRAP they feed us in reality. For example, the difference between all the Concept pics we've seen thus far, could be compared to the concept pics of the Charger back in 1999, and the complete let-down which a lot of you purchased. I guess it grows on you.

I, on the other hand, was lulled in by the Concept of the Ultra-cool retro Mustang GT that came out around 2002-3 timeframe, and the, sad, "close to it" 2006 version that I ended up buying in late 2005.

I'm just curious to see what changes DCX will make from this, Flawless, Carbon Fiber showpiece, to the actual stamped layered plastic/steel production model, with street legal DOT Headlights, blinkers, 5 mph bumpers, side impact ratings, meets aerodynamics testing and roll over testing requirements car will actually look like...

In contrast to what some have commented before... No we do not know "EXACTLY what it will look like", we have a dream... We have No-Idea what it will really be.

*Off Soapbox*

So any new pics anyone?

Smokn~

Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???

DCX better build the next production CHALLENGER nearly identical to the concept...or for the first time in my life I will visit CAMARO LAND! GM has confirmed that the next CAMARO will be indistinguishable from their concept. I prefer the CHALLENGER concept but... if DCX starts messing around...

Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???

I beleve Castiglione said that apart from a slight change in the bumpers and a slight change in the rocker panels, and the addition of mirrors, the concept is what you're going to see for production.

Dodge never implied that the 1999 Concept Charger would make it into production. I'll agree it was a very good looking car. It was also true concept vehicle, with a compressed natural gas engine.

Not to mention that by the time they got around to releasing the new Challenger, their entire lineup and brand had gone through an update. Had they actually built the 1999 concept Charger in 2005, it would've been a brand new car that was already 6 years old. Plus, it would've looked like the old line of Dodge vehicles.

Don't get me wrong: I think that concept was sweet. I think the new Charger was a bit of a letdown (based on the name alone - it's a sweet car, and if I was in the market for a 4-door family sedan, that's what I'd get. Good car, wrong name).

Dodge has been pretty up front about the new Challenger. Sure, not enough info has been released to please all of us "news-hungry" afficienados on this site, but they've released a lot of info. And it sounds like they're doing their best to make the production version as true to the concept as possible.

I personally feel it will be close enough to be completely awesome, front to back and top to bottom.

Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???

I doubt these are Production Picts, they are most likely just the Concept on a foto-shoot. Anyway, I have never seen these groups of fotos and I thought I had seen 'em all. Autoweek has a group of 17 in a gallery and then a couple other shots at the linked articles below. Its a puff-piece, but its F-ing nice. I want to go to LouLou's now...

http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...arams=Itemnr=1

"Step on the gas and its 420 lb-ft of frame-straightening torque makes the car jump, even at slow speeds. Work the pistol-grip six-speed manual and you sense that with this much power you could actually use all six gears for performance and not just to get another half-mile-per-gallon to satiate the EPA. There were almost no squeaks from the car, a testament to both the production chassis and to the skills of the craftsmen at Metalcrafters, the Southern California firm that made the show car. We wanted to light up the rears just once or twice, to see how the car might feel at a drag strip. But we might never have been asked back."

Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???

I think DC is loosing steam that it once had in this car. I mean if they gave us ANYTHING once a month it would keep it atop the news listing in the auto industry, why cant they just do this.... (assumimg they will be avalible in september 07 i dont know if thats accurate)

Feb - Base MSRP
March - Release month
April - Colors
May - Models (rt/srt/whatever)
June - Well models are good enough for two months
July - Let us build them on dodge.com
August - Let Dealers make orders

Loosing Steam, My A$$. The more I look at the Hemi Orange concept car, the better it looks, and the more I want one. They've released all the info they have on the car, they say they're going to build it. It's coming in late '07. 'Nuff Said.

I'm buying one, who cares if there is no more news releases until then?
