They've released all the info they have on the car

They've released one detail, that they are going to build it(which may be the only detail needed) but it would be nice to see pricing, paint options, models etc etc.

It is being reported on another website, that the 2008 Challengers will not hit the showrooms until January 2008.

LX = 300C, Magnum, Charger

LC = Challenger (4" shorter, same front cradle, same rear cradle, no all wheel drive. 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi, Viper 6 speed Manual, 2 disk clutch)

CY = Imperial (Also being built at Brampton) 3" longer than LX same components.

The Mules will be built in April and July, with full production in April 2008.

The current LX / LC will be built until 2009 then a new one comes out.__________________

When I was at the St. Louis auto show, there was a Challenger on display. It's even more stunning in person than in photos. But there was bad news...

The guy on the platform doing a walkaround said he was only giving out information that had been given to him from DCX. The bad news is that only 2000 will be built for 2008. All will be 6.1s with the manual trans. And that Hemi Orange (or whatever they decide to call that color on the concept car) will be the primary color, and "there may be one or two other colors available". That sucks. Can anyone in the know confirm or dispute this?

He did say production would ramp up quite a bit for 2009 and that more colors and options would be available.

Thats good news to me! I wanted to buy the 2nd year anyways!

My truck paid off in 16 months and its 2009 (392?) Hemi Challenger for me!

Just be careful about how much you believe the "official" word from Dodge. Back in mid 2005 when EVERYONE knew that the Neon line was being discontinued - along with the Neon-based SRT-4 - one guy on the SRTForums (refusing to listen to all the people who knew) wrote Dodge a letter asking if he would be able to get an SRT-4 in 2006.

They're "official" response was that there were "no changes planned" to the SRT-4 and they sure were glad he was interested in the car.

As always, and I know this because I've been to MANY MANY MANY autoshows, the guys on the displays really have no clue what they're talking about. DCX can't make that FEW Challengers in the current market. they're making 30k a year.
