You know that dealers with tack on a "market adjustment" to rip us off. MSRP- around $43,000? MSRP+$5,000= $48,000? MSRP+$10,000= $53,000? Last edited by Cuda340 : 02-18-2007 at 07:26 AM. |

I have a real good relationship with my dealer. I have bought 8 cars in the last 10 years. He has always taken care of me. Besides, I may wait for the convertible.

additionally, there's no reason to expect an SRT model in the first production year. so far, DC hasn't released an SRT model in the first production year of a model (with the exception of the Viper, which is only available as an SRT model). consider all the models they have made SRT versions of: Ram, Neon, 300C, Charger, Magnum & Crossfire. i think the closest to SRT status was the charger, and even that was late availability. also, although the challenger will probably look close to the concept model (and thus, very desirable), i doubt people will be willing to put down more than additional $2-3k for that look, before they start losing customers. remember the GTO expected 40k units, but between high prices and bland styling, they couldn't give them away. |

I would expect DCX to offer both a 5.7L R/T and a 6.1L SRT in a 6-speed the first year. In 2009, they will probably come out with more models, an autostik, and a 6.4 HO, with 500+ hp. As for pricing, I think that it will be comparable to the Charger R/T and Charger SRT. ![]() |

Re: Any Spyshots, or Production Pics???
Chrysler has a fine line to walk. The car has to make a splash when it comes out, which means the 6.1 engine will need to be there. But, as was noted, they also don't want a repeat of the GTO fiasco, so the 5.7 engine will also be in the lineup. I expect MSRPs to be in line with a comparably equipped Charger.
But, at the same time, they don't want to put all their cards on the table during the first year of production. They'll want to save some goodies for later on when sales start to slow down. So expect to see a larger engine, maybe more colors and options for 2009. If sales start to taper off too much in 2010, maybe a 'Cuda version will debut. The point is, Chrysler, as a rule, is much more savvy at marketing then GM or Ford. They'll control the launch of the Challenger very closely, and finesse the product over the next couple of years to get the biggest bang for the buck out of it.
