Anyone else pondering an awd challenger?

I have been daydreaming about my new challenger and was wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge on the awd system from an LX platform and transfering it to the challenger? Is it just a pipedream? Jerry

I think the purists would just about $hit if that happened. However if they could put an awd system in it with the 6.1 and were able to keep it lower than the awd charger and 300 which I doubt they would do I would be interested. How much weight you think that would add to the srt package? I'm here to tell you that for fun factor my jeep is at this point is more fun to drive due to the awd and tune reducing allot of tq mgmt. If the jeep could shed say 3-400 pounds and not be shaped like a brick(like a challenger) it would be a mean animal with a tune and a stat. Still the idea seems weird to me. The jeep seems right.

Re: Anyone else pondering an awd challenger?

i dont see any reason it couldnt be done. but you would probably need some custom parts when it comes to your driveshafts. since the challenger frame is slightly shorter.

Re: Anyone else pondering an awd challenger?

i think it would be nice. However, its going to add quite a bit of weight. If you can find a way to shed some lbs first id be game to try it out.

Re: Anyone else pondering an awd challenger?

The only good thing about AWD is when it's wintertime.

I suggest you visit the srt track experience and drive an srt jeep. Even better find one around you that has a diablo tune. I love the hell out of my challenger and would never think about making it AWD but when I see the look on peoples faces after I launch hard from a dig in the jeep I just can't help but smile. I call her the Ol' Neck Snappa.
