General Challenger DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the Dodge Challenger. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
I think a lot of of are in the camp of liking the Core concept, it just seems like they could have done "budget hotrod" a little better than a ~$40k car.

I think it makes perfect sense. A step up from the base R/T and a step down from the 392. Then the Classic Guys can have the retro vibe with a more powerful engine. In the old days, there were more choices at more price points think: 383 / 440 / 426.

Would be cool to offer the 6.1 in a performance based R/T. Upgraded brakes, staggered wheels, better suspension. Stock seats, stock wheels, etc. unfortunately it wouldn't be feasible because the base SRT is only ten grand more than the base R/T so putting anything in the middle doesn't make sense because for a few grand more you could get an SRT.

Actually I read where there is talk of replacing the 5.7 in the RT in the next year or two with a I believe a NA 6.2. I think it was in Allpar.com. If I thought I might post this info here I would have made sure to make a point to remember the source. I belive they Chrysler are thinking about putting the 6.2 in the Ram truck also. As you can see I don't post much on this forum. Mostly here to gather info and stay out of the free for alls that are all too common here.
Im WALKIN'.....Yes indeed I'm TALKIN'.....Who needs an Eight Track wheen you have Rick Cool on the oldies channel. What's the name of that song? MMMM...Him? And remember, one finger is all any REAL American needs!
I don't want a 6.1 in the r/t, add a diablo 93 tune to the r/t and it'll go just as well as a stock 6.1. I'd rather get a forged and supercharged 5.7 option. Or maybe the 6.2 supercharged engine without the srt8 options. The core concept provides r/t owners with a similar upgrade option. If we only want a bit more power.
