Battery Dead

Okay, went to get in my car dead, nothing on and DEad.......anyone have this problem.
There is a way to jump under the hood{see your manual}, because our battery is in the trunk and no way to open the trunk, unless you crawl through the back seat!

seems that others have had dead/almost dead batteries too....some cars need an update(larger battery & some new cables), and some cars have had problems with "mygig/nav" draining the battery...Is your car ok now??

If it happens again, you car has a place under the hood (on the passenser side) to jump the battery. You do not have to access the battery in the trunk.

Next to the power distribution box on the right fender you will see a red plastic cover with a plus on it. That is the terminal yoy place the red cable on it. RED connects FIRST. The connect the black cable to anywhere on the engine or body stud. Coneect to the charging car first then yours. You can then get the trunk open. You may want to check to see if your trunk light is staying on with thdeck lid closed.

Not the first Challenger to have battery probs. Take it to the dealer, they will take care of it under warranty.

Miss,

Monday, have your Vin# ready and call your Dealer's Service Dept. Ask them if there are 1 or 2 "Rapid Responces" open on your Car. One has to do with Cables and a Bat. change. The other has to with a MiGig Firmware upgrade. Either one of these not being completed can cause a Dead or Weak Bat. If you PM me and give me your Vin# ( last 8 numbers ) I could tell you if they were done or not.

My 09 R/T did that too once. Luckily I was at home and just hooked the quick charger up to it from the engine compartment, let it charge for about an hour, and it fired right back up. It was completely dead too, took it for a 20 min drive, and hasn't been a prob since.

I was trying to find how to drop the windows with the fob (still never figured that out) and it must have left something on by doing it. I've even jumped the wifeys expedition a couple times with it.

It's a common problem although my car keeps dying over and over. My car has been through probably 4 new batteries, it's been in the shop so many times for this I've lost count. They did the cable swap, flashed software, everything imaginable. My service guy knows his stuff and he has tried everything to track down the draw on the battery and it still dies. No one can figure it out. I just got home from traveling for 3 days and it is dead as can be. I'm at the end of my rope with it.

Good luck with your car. I hope your situation gets resolved easily.

Dead Battery

I brought my 09 R/T in yesterday for the second oil change and there was 4 recalls on the car, one was for the battery and cables. Both replaced for free. I never had any dead battery problems thought...
