I doubt the Dodge Boys would ruin the SEMA S/S Challenger, unless they used a kind of cheap water soluble paint that would be good enough just for this show .then power spray it off ? I'm guessing another one was built.I can't tell if that picture is real or not.If real ,and it's the SEMA one then maybe they used a special black paint or coating in order to protect the RW& Blue paint since [if real] appears to be sitting on some salt flats {such as the Bonneville Salt Flats } for some _ _ _-kickin' flat out speed trials !!! Maybe even some [ heat] endurance testing and even some donuts [ to test suspension/rigidty ] ! !!!!!!!!!

Re: Black Pro-Stock Challenger!!!

No way they would repaint the S/S Challenger. I dont think that picture is the actual car. It looks to me like its probably a "leak" ahead of the event, or some artists representation as a sneak preview. I hope its close, cause that car looks wicked, and its got just my stripe!

Re: Black Pro-Stock Challenger!!!

yeah, that "picture" of the black SS is computer generated... can't wait to see a shot of the real one.

i'd be surprised if they built another concept just to have one in black. seems it would be much less expensive to simply repaint the red-white-blue SS. UNLESS they are testing a different engine/tranny combo

Re: Black Pro-Stock Challenger!!!

I like the look of an all black car- very mean. But I caution anyone who wants to order black. Every scratch and swirl mark shows and black cars are always impossible to keep clean for more than a day. (I know, because I have had 2 black ones).

very true! owned a black jeep cherokee for years (hence the name on this forum) - although on the flip side, when you get the black all waxed up real nice there's not much that looks cooler

Re: Black Pro-Stock Challenger!!!

Very true, just washed my Talon this morning (still cold, roads dry) JUST took it for a spin and now its a white talon thanks to the dried salt water down its flanks(snow banks melting onto roads). Black sucks, but looks killer when the weather is there....
