Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

I had a few BMW's over the years, and they're nice cars, no doubt about it. But to me, there's no comparing the two. The Challenger is huge by comparison - it's a "musclecar". No one would accuse the BMW model you've suggested as being one.

Consider what's important to you in a car, the get the best fit.

Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

Two very different cars man? Its like comparing apples to oranges. And getting either one entails two very different reasons.

328 is base model. You will be very unsatisfied after purchase, wishing you bought at least the 330 model, if not the 335. The 328 is a basic all around daily driver. Which comes with a bit of over zealous pretensions. If this is what you want, then by all means.

However...

If you want a car that turns heads, that'll blow people off the line, that has excellent passing ability on highway, to cruise around in, take to the strip once in a while, be a part of history, AND be your daily driver then there is no debating. The Challenger is the pick.

Think what you are looking for in a car before you pull the trigger on this decision.

If you are deciding between a BMW and a Dodge, you lack the passion for the "Challenger". Just the mere fact that the Challenger is fast car may be good but, the two vehicles do not compare on many levels. Not knowing you personally, simply from your question and how it was presented, You may want the choose BMW. Please elaborate more so we can better assist :-)
Yup very well said. The Challenger might not be the best at a lot of things but that is not why most people buy it. It is an internal switch in your body that says man i gotta have it. Desire. It's not about pros and cons for most.

It's the same disscusion they have on the Harley forums. Goldwing vs Ultra Classic. The HD might not be the best built bike, but it's that desire to own, to ride, to drive that makes you want it. It's about being part of or owning that classic peice of history allbeit it is now new. If that hunger is not ripping away at your insides than it is probably not the car for you.

No choice Challenger hands down its a true american icon!
I looked at the new G8 tonight just for yucks...Yuck is right it looked like an abortion of many cars all smashed together.
Just look at the challenger and you can feel the energy/passion that put this thing on the road for us.
How often does a remake come along that actully pays homage to the original ,its a once in a lifetime thing for a car guy, dont miss this boat jump on now.

That's a uh, really graphic way to put it. I actually love the new G8. I was originally considering 2 cars for purchase, a new Charger or a new G8, and while I loved them both, the G8 was winning my affection. Then the Challenger came along and smashed everything. But still, the G8 is a respectable car, in my opinion.

Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

For me personally its a no brainer, I dont think the same type of person drives each, For me Im looking for some BadA$$ American Muscle, The BMW cannot do that for me, My Peddered Challenger could easily take out the BMW 328i Coupe, No offense I just cant see how one would be stuck between the 2, Besides the fact that the BMW 328i Coupe is a dime a dozen. Just my 02 cents.

If you do go the route of the BMW, I would seriously suggest you drive the 335i before making the decision of which BMW model.
