Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

Glad you like it someone needs to buy them they are all over the lots around here.

The G8 is a great bargin but not evernt in this league as it has a real Honda/Bmw cross bred feel. Its a very small car and very cramped inside as my shoulders where touching the person next to me.Total import interior I keep coming back to the accord as it looked like a relative to the accord it feel will make the Fast and the furious crowd happy with RWD...

Kids will like it its great bang for the buck. It may be great for some but they had a couple of the Ponticas sitting next to the G8 and you had to look close to tell which was which,it seemed like the car was looking for an identity.I really tried to keep an open mind a few years back when the GTo came out I almost bought as GTO a few years back just to beat on,but lost the drive as it too looked like any other inport out there.

The new G8 really let me down but the market for that car is about 10 years behind me.Not for me But I gave it a shot out of curiosity so dont get your feathers ruffled, buy one.

32k loaded nice was a great price, but like I said not for me.
If I wanted a BMW clone Id just buy the real deal then why would I be here??

But still, the G8 is a respectable car, in my opinion.

Thank you,

Turning the wheel of steering is single driving skill function... with that said, a poor handling car with an expert driver can overcome and good handling car with a retard behind the wheel.

In a racers world, whoever exits the apex at the highest speed is generally the one that wins the race... and it's not accomplished with the single function of turning the steering wheel. If you like going around corners fast with technical ability, I suggest enrolling in Jim Russell racing drivers school. This will provide you with the basic foundation, skills and confidence you need to go fast with or without a BMW.

I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings, just the basic facts.

Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

I agree with just about every post here. Two total different car classes in my opinion. Might as well have asked should I buy a 4 door dually pick up or a vette. I am not saying the Beamer is a bad car…there are plenty over here, a good daily driver I bet. But the Challenger is a work of art with lots of potential.

Wheel of steering is something that Yoda would mudder! Mudder....LOL

Must be a troll. However, a Dinan'd 335Xi will beat a stock Chally SRT. Stock for stock, the Chally SRT should win. Yes, the 335 does handle fantastic, the interior is nice, and no doubt dealer service is about 1000 times better. But you will pay more.

Edit: Challenger runs low 13's and the BMW runs low 14's. Big difference.
Also, don't forget that the Challenger SRT can go from 0-100-0 mph in 16 sec. and has a top speed of 173 mph!

Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

If the Challenger didn't exist I would be buying an Audi S5! Quarter mile in 13.4, V8 354 hp, AWD. So Chrysler should be happy to know they will be out Audi on at least one sale!

Re: BMW 328i Coupe or DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8?

Different feel to these cars:

Challenger is bigger, heavier car (by 700 - 800#) - it will handle well, but not like the BWM. V8 engine is going to have a lot more low end torque, getting you off the line.

BWM: I'd recommend going 330 at the least if you're leaning in that direction. 335 does have a significant increase in price, but that engine is in another league as BWM's go.

To get performance out of the 328, you'd have to go with a manual transmission, automatic won't really cut it on that version.

I think you found two cars in about the same price range, but imports do cost more for what you're getting, such as smaller lower output engines.

It depends on what your priorities are in a prospective car you're looking at. BWM is good handling, high revving 6 cyl engine - but they're pretty common - as you seem them everywhere.

Challenger is torquey V8 with good handling traits, and you won't see as many of those around.

I didn't realize that it could do 0-100-0 in 16 seconds; that is pretty amazing.
