That is correct. Not only that, but they are a HUGE conglomerate in India, with (IIRC) almost a hundred companies in their portfolio.

Check out this Euro-Only Patriot w/ VW TDi engine. Gets 40 MPG
This is a tuned version by a Company over there "Star Tech"..but you can see how it would look over here as an SRT4

Good information. You wouldn't believe how much the Jeep brand has staying power in the market place... with all generations. I still have high school kids wanting my old 1991 Jeep Cherokee -- its not for sale.

If Chrysler straightened out the Jeep line-up they would take back market share from Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

The Patriot, Liberty and Commander needs new names... too militaristic.

Re: Bob Nardelli will be the end of Chrysler...............

I have my fondest Jeep memories of a 1978 Jeep Honcho. Basically a shortbed fullsize pickup with a 360 motor and Quadratrac ( electric locking hubs). It was a metallic blue beauty with a Levis bench interior. Unfortunately between the work role and road salt she's long gone but it still brings a smile to my face to remember her. In the late 70's she could take any contempoary " Muscle car" at that time from light to light.
