Re: Brampton Factory

The platform code lists, as reported on allpar.com., for the Challenger are as follows:

LC- Challenger (LC22) (2008-up)
LC- Challenger SRT8 (LC22) (2009-up)
LD- Challenger (2nd gen)

What is interesting is that the SRT platform is listed as a 2009 model. Does this mean that the 2008 model will be a limited run and not have an SRT?

Re: Brampton Factory

Information from a Brampton Factory Worker (posted on another site):

Over 1300 cars a day (3 shifts @ 8hrs each ) are being built.

Presently, the factory is building the 300, Magnum and the Charger. The majority of the cars are still 300's, followed by the Charger and then the Magnum.

Still no sight of a Challenger although some areas of the plant are running pilots.

The factory has 3 down weeks coming up for retooling, etc , so it can, hopefully, start to build the Challenger.

Things are still fairly quiet as to an official start build date.

Re: Brampton Factory

I thought they weren't going to start production until early 2008?

No one knows the exact date that the factory will start rolling off Challengers from its assembly line. However, after the Challenger is introduced at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6, 2008 we will, hopefully, see them starting to arrive in dealer lots.

The official countdown clock now stands at 211 days! See:
