Absolutely, and that's why I like the joke, because of the kernel of truth inside.
Yeah, this is tongue-in-cheek. Brought about by the people arguing that since cars kill more people than guns, cars should be banned.

I like the poster tho- -

A complete bunch of idiots - all of them.
Can you define "A gun nut for me" Or am I right for defining it as a person that owns a gun. So with that said,
we are all "Car nuts" for owning a car correct?

One serious comment, then back to the fun:

The sad thing in this country is that the people depend so much on the media and base their views off of the sound byte length news reports. Yesterday I just happened to be watching in the right place at the right time to see the nearly hour long NRA press conference and listen to what was said, the guy speaking was not the best public speaker, but there was lots of content in there, then throughout the day I saw the sound byte versions of the news, and all I could think was " SO THAT IS WHAT YOU GOT OUT OF IT" even the more pro gun media outlets messed up the main point in their sound bytes.

Fact, US has the lowest per-capita murder rate in the world.

Not even close to accurate - according to the UN anyways. Note these stats are not limited to gun deaths, nor do they count accidental deaths, just the per capita intentional homicide rate.

UNODC homicide statistics

Regardless of what happens in other countries, many of which either don't have our diversity (and the attendant racial tensions/frictions) or freedom (and the attendant out-of-control behaviors)... what's been proven over and over again stateside (see John Lott's More Guns, Less Crime, for example) is that where guns are more readily available violent crime rates go down.

Now I'll be honest and admit that the areas where guns are the most restricted are also often the most whacky (I would know), so that I'm not sure that firearms wouldn't be gasoline on the fire there.

HEMIZSP's point about Korean business owners and the LA riots is solid, though, and is often brought up in firearms training classes as an example of the citizenry's legal right (and ability in that case) to suppress riots. Hard to do when the tools are taken away by strident and irrational opponents, however.

Correct!

Without getting into the political aspects of "gun control" or anything of that sort, I don't see where this proposed banning of assault weapons would actually solve anything. Maybe that poster is akin to saying all high performance cars should be banned....because a Honda Prius can't harm anyone, and everyone should drive Hybrid slow cars?!?

Standard clips can be inserted pretty darn quickly into common handguns...and they're not considered "Assault" weapons. IMO there's no logic in any of this.

I can reload a revolver faster that you can "insert your clip".
They're also talking about all semi auto assault weapons. That's 80% of all the guns here. Look for the wording.
Oh btw it all starts from a little "poster".
And as far as UN, they can ki$! My a$$
Their stats are bias and don't believe anything they say. Their ultimate goal is to have one world govt.
they're now trying to take control of the Internet. Now, that's scary. Wake up. Nothing is as innocent ad it seems.
