I havent read this whole thread but there will be no Canadian cars built until 50% of the American cars are produced. Thats what I heard anyway..

Re: Canadian Info

I'm certainly no expert but my guess is that its either an american production car being delivered somewhere and going through winnipeg to get there, or more likely its one of the pre-production cars and will eventually be doomed.

I think if it was a canadian production car there would be a '500' label of some kind on the front

Re: Canadian Info

then again, here is a quote from a post on OntarioStreetCar:
"All the cars you see on the carriers up to that point are pilot cars, not to be confused with R&D cars (that end up in the crusher) These 50 cars are for executives to drive and supply "fast feed back" before they officially start production. The 50 will then be updated and sold as used cars..."

so who knows.

Re: Canadian Info

Somehow this doesn't seem right that the Canadian Wholesale could be that high. but thats what it says.

Also interesting is that I added all the options, including the "500" upgrade and the green gas tax but when it created the summary it took them out. Does this mean that the Canadian "500" includes all the options at that price?
If so, thats not too bad at all!

or is my source flawed?

Retail Price* Wholesale Price**
Base $44,995.00 $41,970.00
Freight $1,300.00 $1,300.00
Optional equipment selected
- FEDERAL AIR CONDITIONING EXCISE TAX (-EXTAX) N/A N/A
- 6.1L HEMI V8 ENGINE (STD) (ESF) $0.00 $0.00
- 5-SPEED W/AUTOSTICK (STD) (DGJ) $0.00 $0.00
- 22X SRT8 (REQ: AA9 Challenger 500 Group) (22X) $0.00 $0.00

PPA Assessment $75.00
DAA $150.00

See below from March. The total here would be the $44,995. plus delivery $1300. = $46,295. (AS above)
I have also seen it elsewhere, in more detail, where it added to the same thing. The "Options" are not really options, as they are coming on all 500 cars. The only options offered are the tires, Mygiig, and sunroof. They are in addition to that price. You may be interested to know that part of that $44995. before delivery is GG tax. I think I remember $3300.

March 25, 2008 Chrysler Canada announces pricing for 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

2008 Dodge Challenger. Click image to enlargeWindsor, Ontario - Chrysler Canada has announced pricing for the limited-volume 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. The modern muscle car will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $44,995 (excluding a $1300 destination charge).
Powered by a 6.1-litre, 425-hp Hemi V8 engine, the new Challenger SRT8 coupe features 20-inch SRT Design wheels, high-performance suspension, dual-exhaust, and high-intensity discharge headlamps.
The company also announced a Canada-only edition called the Challenger SRT8 500. These will be available in Black, Silver and HEMI Orange. All will feature a special 500 badge in front grille, 500 badge in the instrument panel and all customers will receive a unique Certificate of Authenticity. The Challenger SRT8 500 will also include dual “carbon-fiber” hood stripes, harkening back to the original Dodge Challenger.
The interior will include race-inspired leather seats with added bolstering and an exclusive orange accent stripe, exclusive stitched accents on the seats and steering wheel, four-bomb gauges with tachometer and speedometer in the center, and an SRT-exclusive Reconfigurable Display (RCD) with Performances Pages that provide drivers instant feedback on 0–100 km/h time, 100–0 km/h braking, g-forces and ¼-mile time.
Later this year, four 2009 Dodge Challenger models will be offered in Canada: Dodge Challenger SE, Dodge Challenger SXT, Dodge Challenger R/T and Dodge Challenger SRT8. Pricing for the complete Dodge Challenger lineup will be announced at a later date.
The all-new Dodge Challenger will be built at the Brampton Assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario, Canada on the same assembly line as the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.

Re: Canadian Info

I was actually wondering about the wholesale cost column. Not sure how it can be so much higher than the US wholesale cost. ODD.

As for the options, I was expecting it to be the same as the US version with only three options available and the program I was using had provision for that. I actually choose all three options (as you can see the tires are listed but mygig and sunroof disappeared). In other cases where I have seen the program do this its because the options that got dropped were already included in a package that was chosen. Thats why I am now curious if the 46,295 might even include sunroof and mygig. if so, our prices aren't looking bad at all and I will have to apologize for all my whining! LOL

Thanks for explaining.(I don't see any whining) Now that I see what you meant though, it might not be so bad. It'd be great if those were included in that price, because I thought they were in addition to the original price. Hopefully Canada will come out of the dark soon, and we'll find out.

I was able to get an up-close look at an exec's car, and it did have a '500' label, however, it was on the dash (same spot where they put the Super Bee # plaques). There was no exterior labeling for '500' anywhere, but then again, this wasn't an actual production car.

Re: Canadian Info

I tried getting some pix with my cell but you couldn't make it out because of the glare off the glass. The dash plaque was similar to the Bee one in size, and if I remember correctly, it said Canadian Edition with a big 500 underneath the writing. Again, this was a pre-pro car, so things might have changed since.
