Re: Canadian Info

that's the pricing I got too... the only difference, I was told gas tax of $1250.00 for SRT8 and $250.00 if 5.7L RT. It is way too high, but I'm in the same boat. I just got to have one! I will remember the way this whole deal has gone down and I will make sure every and I mean every little thing that is wrong with this car, I will make sure it's fixed, adjusted, polished by dodge.

but nope on the used one. For me it was a new 08Srt8 or nothing.
I don't need a car, would never use it as a daily driver because of where my work is and am not naive enough to think a car is a good investment. I just wanted it because I wanted it, mostly cause it would be the first, it would be a little unique but thats it.

again, I sure hope I am wrong. I guess I will get a call from my dealer in a month or so and know for sure.
Considering the rising cost of fuel, I hope this pricing comes back to bite Chrysler Canada. This is no longer just a matter of can I afford it, or do I want it bad enough, but whether or not the car is worth this much money. I thought the US price was pushing the limit for what is little more than a 2 door Charger (admittedly this is much more appealing to my taste), but Canadian pricing is just ridiculous. Like you, I do not need a car, and the SRT8 would not be a daily driver, but even as a toy, it’s just not worth it.

Of course, if they decide to make a convertible…

Re: Canadian Info

Well said Plum70.
No doubt its a beautiful car but their cost is (roughly) the same no matter which side of the border they sell it so adding almost $12,000 to the sticker is ridiculous.

Like you I thought that low 40's was a lot for the car, so many people had been whining about not getting and SRT8 for in the 20's but that was too low. As much as it would be wonderful to have one of these, I can't justify almost 60Grand when I can probably go by a US'09 for 40 in a few months.

But for me 40 is too much for something that isn't really unique. As you've said there are a lot of other cars out there that will be faster, look sweet (not as sexy-retro) and will hold their value better than an '08 and certainly better than an '09.

Hope i am wrong and that I can still be driving this beauty away for mid 40's but am near giving up on it.

Re: Canadian Info

I agree that they are pricing this car out of sight. I wanted one badly, but this pricing policy is helping me to decide that I can find something else for less.

or maybe in the case of a new CTS-V something more for about the same price. No question that the Chally is a nicer looking car but with all the extra features added, a hundred or so pounds less and somewhere between 550-600 hp the caddy will be impossible to beat.

whats a 73 cuda worth

This isn't really the right place for this question, but I trust the answers from this group so here goes:

just cause I am now reconsidering whether a new Chally is worth the better part of 60 Grand, what do you think an orginal Cuda is worth? for me to buy!

73
340
auto
all matching numbers
50,000 miles
I don't know if its original or restored, might be original except for new paint. interior looks near perfect but I haven't gotten close enough to be sure.

Thoughts anyone

Re: Canadian Info

With the Cuda you will not loose $$$$$. I bought my Daytona for 30,900 and sold it for 20,600 25 months later

The Cuda will hold or gain in value......The downside, no new car smell!

Re: Canadian Info

old car smell rules too heheh ! I'm with you on waiting more and more + Caddy CTS-V ever since I saw it out ! Ideally though I'd go for the Toyota FT-HS a 400hp hybrid sex-bomb (droolin') Supra ressurection - this car rocks me in evey way .... hope they build it
