A lot off the guys on the Cherokee forum have told me dealers in Canada are trying to get 60-70k for the SRT Jeeps there.

and with all of you who've already seen it saying its better in person maybe its worth that much??? Arrgghh.. what to do, what to do. Still 50 is still about 7-8 grand more than the american price and that just irks me! what to do what to do...

It makes no sense. The current exchange rate, has 99 cents Canadian buying 1 U.S. dollar, so why is the Canadian car $7000. more (Base prices)??
The following was just copied from the Bank Of Canada Exchange rates.

Using rates for: 30 May 2008
Convert to and from Canadian dollars, using the latest noon rates.
Summary:
On 30 May 2008, 1.00 U.S. dollar(s) = 0.99 Canadian dollar(s), at an exchange rate of 0.9942 (using nominal rate.)

Yeah, the worst part is that I have seen that same base price figure of $44995. in various posts for months now, so I think it's real.
Still gotta have it, and the time is close. So might as well just have the happy face.

lol. I could deal with the $44995.00 price tag, but those numbers going over $50k are just killer. Still no word on canadian shipments?

My dealer (Great Guy !!but I don't think he really knows) tells me mid July.
At least he's never tried to go over MSRP. This dealership has only the one 08 coming in, with over 100 people waiting to buy it. Too bad. It's my hemi-orange !!

Mid July wouldnt be too bad i guess. Hopefully he honors his word and keeps it for you to buy. I hate when dealers sell out from under buyers like that. Keep those fingers crossed

Thanks for that !!
Heh,heh, yeah, he (the salesman I deal with) is their top guy, so he's been given this car to sell, but every salesman there also knows me, and that I'm getting this car. Also the manager of the dealership has assured me for a year now. I jokingly told him if he did anything different that I'd find out where he lives, and unhappy things would happen.
Even the service department knows. Just had my truck in for servicing, and they gave me Challenger coffee cup for the car, and the dealer gave me one also.
