AND its very very very slow!!!!

The "dealer" has two cars and uses a calgary, Albreta based cell phone for the contact number. AND says its got 100 "miles" on it, no mention of it being a "500" series.

My guess is some slimey dealer has picked up two US models, which would have to have been used for him to bring them across without Chrysler punishing the american dealer. There will be no warranty on those cars if they're US models.

BUT, I'm still curious what they want for them if anyone feels like calling. not that I would buy one, but I am curious about what they think the market will bear for a car without warranty. LOL
it might actually be worth it. ive heard that you can buy aftermarket warranties. and they only run a few grand. i havent done enough research. but for a brand new car, i cant imagine it would be too expensive. might be worth checking out, if you really wanted an 08.

M2B// Pretty good guess; I went and had a look, and there are pictures of the interior. The Canadian "500"'s all have bolstered seats. This car does not. This also, may , explain some of the 100 miles on the cars.

You know it. I'm just wondering how much they're asking for them. Curiosity only. I might find it hard to explain a phone call from 200 miles off the coast of Newfoundland to Alberta, to my company . (Ha, ha !!) There are a lot of people though who could easily fall for such a scam, because they want this car, but are not members of this forum, and therefore not as well educated.

Re: Canadian Info

you are correct. It is fortunate for us to have access to such a great forum and the wealth of knowledge herein. Its so easy to get screwed, especially if you don't know what to look for. This is the first time I have been active on a forum pertaining to a car before i actually owned that car. I will do so from now on as well, hopefull to keep from getting bent over by the salesman these days

Re: Canadian Info

2008 price in canada might be between 51 and 60.
They're making them NOW!!! Some are already in transit to dealers!!
I've heard three prices so far for msrp for the three cars I know of:
52,56,62 which dealer if any is telling the truth, I don't know.

I am trying to do some checking and will keep you posted.

Good news is: Canadian Cars will start being delivered next week!!

Re: Canadian Info

From a trusted Canadian dealer today (2008 SRT '500'):

Base (MSRP): 44995
500 pkge 2000
Sunroof 1075
Mygig 1100
Green Levy 1000
Freight 1300

Total MSRP 51470
Just add taxes (PST and GST) and the likely dealer 'markup'

And I thought the US price was too high. Apparenty Chrysler Canada has a different definition of reasonable profit . Oh well, at least now we know...I'll stick to the original e bodies for now at least.

Thanks for posting that. It's consistant with what I've been seeing for months, other than the "Green Levy" which was @ $3000. ; so for me, it's a little good news.

Re: Canadian Info

As a matter of interest, there was an article in the Toronto Star business section yesterday about a study done by the Bank of Montreal. Their analysis showed that on average, Canadians pay between 14 and 18% more for the same products as in the U.S.A. Their study went from food to cars. Their conclusion was that market size was the biggest reason for the variance. I guess it sucks to live in the cold.
