Re: Canadian Info

Mine has a late June/early July delivery. As per the 500 thing, I believe it to be a version of the 5.7L they are running. (Got this information through my dealer who also was at a meeting and spoke with the VP of sales to confirm my order). First batch april/may, then june/july, then 5.7l, then 6speed srt for aug./sept. I am only repeating what I have been told.

Thanks Toronto SRT8 for posting!

I was about to order a black stripped down srt8 charger for racing when the owner/friend told me I could have one of the two he was getting.

Re: Canadian Info

Thanks Brady, so do you think these are 08's or 09's?

Re: Canadian Info

6 pack asked: where to watch for release dates
=====
one of the reliable regulars on one of these forums called Chrysler canada a few days ago on behalf of the group and was basically told that they're ticked at people/companies for the number of leaks that got out about the Challenger and aren't telling anyone anything anymore (my emphasis).

The best advice, assuming that to be true, is to just keep checking dodge.ca and we can order the 08's when it says so and the 09's likewise. Until then I think everything else is just speculation.

Redletter is a us based site, so you likely won't find anything there.
I am checking here, challengerforums, and dodge.ca every day (ok, every few minutes! LOL) until I see something that looks like I can go order my car.

Oh. and I have put a grand down, refundable of course. I am optimistically not holding my breath, if that makes sense. Hopefully a few more weeks and the agony of waiting will be over.

Re: Canadian Info

Pretty simple conditions. I don't get the car, I get my money back.
the only reason to have a non-refundable deposit, IMO, is if they're bringing something in for you and there is a risk of you changing your mind and them being stuck with it. The deposit then is to offset some of the potential carrying charges for holding the thing in inventory until someone else comes along to buy it.

For a high demand item there's little chance I would change my mind and I am sure there are dozens if not hundreds of people waiting in line hoping that I do.

I would never consider a non-refundable deposit where the dealer has the option to cancel the order and not refund the money.

Re: Canadian Info

if any wants to know
they can go to MacIver dodge in newmarket , ontario
and put down 5 grand to be put on a waiting list
dont think you will get it as the list is 5 deep and they are only getting 4 cars
but you never know, someone might not be allowed to buy it ... lol

and as for the special canadian version ... i heard that also but it was not " 500 ''
edition ... they were simply titled as 09 srt8 ..... only in black and only available in canada ... not that they are bad , but i think if you want a piece of history , you need to be a owner of a 2008 challenger srt8 ...
the first batch/run .... they rest will be just challengers.

Re: Canadian Info

Questioned my dealer today. He says the first cars will be available in fall. They are only getting 1 and it's pre-sold. Not really sure what to believe now, as fall would be an 09 model year. Getting only 1 of an 09 doesn't make sense......

so.........just have to wait
