Not sure where you are, but my dealer in Halifax N.S. tells me that it's according to the size of the dealership. He was recently at an area manager's meeting, where some like his ( A larger one ) will get 2 (Mine is the first), other smaller dealers will not get any 08's., and he tells me that naturaly they were not happy. Is it a small dealership? If so you may want to look at a larger one. Also of course you needed to be early. I started bugging this guy over a year ago.
It's going to be a longer wait than I hoped for ( Delivery of July/ August). But for me, there's sweet treats that come with it. He was told that it will be one of 500 made for Canada/ Black/ and with more than the 425HP. Maybe it's the unknown 6.6 L @ 525 HP I'm seeing in some questionable reports.
Good luck with it !!

Re: Canadian Info

I'm in Winnipeg - the dealer was Eastern Chrysler. I'm actually not really sure about size in terms of sales..........good question. And if it depends on "size" then perhaps that was the difference I didn't account for.

However, other information I've heard through the forums is that all 5 star dealers are getting at least one, so that jives. Plus, you mentioned July/Aug. I suppose that could be referred to as "fall" as my guy said?

He did also say that a manual will be available, which goes with the 09 production rumours. Ah well, a few more weeks and all will be official.

If the >425HP, 500 production run is true, those will be special cars and worthwhile holding onto.

Re: Canadian Info

I think a lot of dealers don't know for sure what they are getting and when still and are answering through their hats to customers .... perhaps in your case pushing you off to a later date for you to come back AT HIS DEALERSHIP - when they'll know more for sure ....
If I would have been your dealer - I would have told you ''we will be the first to contact you as soon when we know !'' I have informed a few salesmen in the past regarding upcoming models when they knew squat still ! Goes to show some are swimming in the dark still

Re: Canadian Info

Check this out:

according to this presentation the canadian cars will be the same 6.1 425hp and will be available in black or orange and there is no comment about any special 500 unit.

I've spoken to a few dealers yesterday who have told me that Chryslers still hasn't announced anything to them. No price info. No date to start ordering. No specs on the car other than black or orange. Beyond that they're assuming that it will have the same options and features as the US versions but we really can't be certain of that. Some had guessed there would be 200 cars, others about 700 but either way that suggests to me that unless some dealers aren't going to even get an option to sell one (possible) then no dealer will get more than one.

so............ we continue to wait.

Re: Canadian Info

I gave my credit card number to my dealer more than 6 months ago. I wanted an 08. I was told that I was number 7 on their list. The deposit will not be processed until an order is placed. The understanding is that my car must be a 6.1 or better, standard trans. and a colour of my choice. I.E. plum crazy, sublime, or B5. The last time I heard from the salesman, the dealership was still not able to access the Canadian order system. I have been raised to 5th place and my name has been submitted to Chrysler as a prospective buyer. I will continue to wait until I can get what I want for a price I am willing to pay.

Re: Canadian Info

I am #1 at my dealer (and have been for about a year) for a convertible (I know not even announced yet) at MSRP and I have stated that I have the right to delay if there is an announcement of any special additions or the SRT8. My deposit is fully refundable for any reason at my choice. In my location there is no gas guzzler tax either. I am not going to proceed unless they make a 6.4 litre, SRT8 convertible 6 speed. Crossing my fingers! worried that the convertible will only be in R/T form.

Question Re: Canadian Info

Challengerman!
Yeah !! I'd really be interested to hear about that. (Location)I'm #1 car coming to my dealership too,("Halifax Chrysler Dodge " Hfx., N.S. ) but they will not even take a deposit, but assure me I have the first one , first invoice has my name on it .( but to special order a convertible ?) Wow, you have some pull I'd like to have.
Most of us can't even figure out what's coming in to Canada, even though , from everything I see, a lot of us are talking directly to our dealerships managers, and getting conflicting info.
I thought I had interesting info. gleened directly from this manager ( An hour after his "area's managers meeting") which I shared here,( couple of weeks ago) only to see differing info. from other people who had done basically the same thing (Inf0. from their dealer).
My dealer hinted at a 6.6 @ 500/ 525 HP./ black/ 500 only/ I'm probably missig something, so can you please tell me where the 6.4 comes from ? Any HP numbers ? How sure are you about a convertible? Will you get a colour choice ?
Sure it's a 08 ?

Re: Canadian Info

With all this talk as to what will come in how many numbers of production , how much horsepower , etc. that some dealers are IMO just relating rumors that catch like wildfire ..... most of them are in the complete dark and money2burn is an example with his dealer !

Let me add this interesting sentence like fuel to fire - which had caught my eye previously read on allpar.com but didn't warranty my interest at the time as I was solely wanting an R/T (I just might buy the beast now) and had created the R/T thread : http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...-related-1426/

Anyhoot , I did remember that phrase that stuck in my mind despite I wanted an R/T , and here it is - guaranteed to have us guessing and start many additional rumors :

Six-speed SRT models will include a couple of surprise features that will have Challenger enthusiasts talking.
