Re: Canadian Info

BTW guys - why don't you take a few seconds and fill the location you're from in your profiles - this way we don't have to ask each other all the time

Sure it's a 08 ?
Here's what allpar.com had to say on the 500 HP :
The expanded Multiple Displacement System (MDS) will be included in the new 5.7 that is offered in R/T automatic transmission models, while 6-speed manual R/T models will feature the same engine without MDS. A 6.4 liter version, with an estimated 500 or more hp, is still expected to be offered in a future model of the Challenger, possibly debuting in the 2010 model year.

Also about them Convertibles which I already displayed in this thread of mine : http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...-related-1426/
Challenger convertible models are rumored to be added in the 2010 model year, with production possibly starting in the first half of 2009, several months earlier than the 2010 non-convertible models. Convertibles will be offered in the base and R/T models only. Finally, the 2011 or 2012 Challenger will most likely include the upcoming 4.0 liter Phoenix engine, replacing the 3.5 liter. This explains the front seat belt mounts, which are normally bolted to the bottom of the B post, then travel up the B post at which point you grab it and place over your chest. In the Challenger, seat belts are set up convertible-style; there is a small bar at the bottom of the B post which the seat belt is attached to. This allows it to slide back and forth to help with getting it out of the way when getting in the back. Then the seat belt travels through a loop at the top of the seats like in a convertible. You grab the seat belt from the top of the seat and then place across you chest. This may indicate that someone is thinking ahead to making a convertible. (Courtesy oh20; first released at allpar).

Glad you did it yourself !! It's the ONLY way you know it's done right . Never seen a "winter beater " that cool before. It reminds me of a guy, when I put my 74 LT Camaro ( Drag car ) for sale in the winter, and he (Like 19) wanted to buy it as a winter beater ( LOL, lots ).
I actually was going to start a new thread about a meeting for owners of the new Challys. We're going to be pretty unique, and I thought about how COOL !! it would be to meet the other small percentage of the world that has such great taste , and were also smart enough to get on top of it quickly, to get one. Then I thought about the organization of it , and realized that it's too early.
It's nothing for my wife and I to take off (Even just for the weekend) to Toronto, Quebec City, Montreal, Boston, NYC,etc. etc. ( All in the last 2 years), also Vegas, L.A. etc. for longer trips, so, definitely open to a Chally owners meet.
Owners thread . any thoughts ??

Re: Canadian Info

Hey guys, sorry for the confusion. My dealer has not a clue if they are going to make a convertible, they just took my deposit anyway. I am located in Calgary, Alberta and the dealer has been around for 40 years and is a 5 star dealer. I have no further information, other than what is posted on Allpar.com. Everything I have heard is that they are only making a R/T convertible and no SRT8 convertible. Time will tell but IF they don't I can have my deposit refunded. I basically attached a Schedule to my contract that gave me all sorts of rights and they accepted it with a $2,500 refundable deposit. I actually have not even spoken to them in about 8 months, I assume that I know more than them and that they have NO idea what is going on. Again to clarify, I am NOT getting a car for 2008 and will probably have to wait until 2010 when I find out whether Dodge has the balls to make a SRT8 convertible. If they don't then I am not sure what to do, as I have kids and need those four seats.

Re: Canadian Info

Why would you let a dealer hold onto that much money, when there may never be a car built like that? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Re: Canadian Info

Does not matter to me. If it were $10,000 it would be a different story. $2,500 is nothing - so what. You do what makes you happy, I do what works for me.

Heck, that seems like a whole lot going on for a convertible:all loaded up and adding a very powerful engine ! Gee, I would not want to add gobs of traffic on roads with chuck holes and other precarious conditions !!! Perhaps,Castiglione & crew need to design 5 ejection seats w/ parachutes !!!
