Re: Canadian Info

I posted the canadian pricing on a couple of other web sites, $44,995.00 base with $2,000.00 for the stickers, $1,075.00 for the sunroof, $1,050.00 for the mygig, no charge for 3 season tires. Colours available will be Black, Hemi Orange and Silver. There are various reason why dealerships in Canada can not charge above MSRP, but one real one is their contract with Chrysler itself. Yes, dealers still find a way around this on the special edition vehicles. Thats why you want your name on the build sheet as the original purchaser not the dealer name. The only real way they can charge more is if it is sold as a used vehicle then they can charge whatever the market will pay.

Re: Canadian Info

my only question then is how confident are you that its a real letter.

I've seen local dealers make fake invoices and letters from the manufacturer before as part of trying to convince the customer that the prices aren't their fault. one dealer I know of would take the stickers off the car windows and replace them with their own that were identical in every way except that each price was inflated. If you didn't have a way to check with some other dealer or online you'd never know that the dealer had done it and would assume they were the factory sheets.

Re: Canadian Info

Gas Mileage?
Anyone notice the mileage on the bottom of the first page? 17 city and 26 hwy?

Granted the imperial gallon is larger so we'd get more mpg, but these numbers don't make sense. the city rating is 30% higher than the US and the hwy is 44%. Did I miss a memo and the canadian gov't changed the length of highway miles compared to a city mile? LOL

If these numbers are legit then that totally changes the gas guzzler tax too!

Re: Canadian Info

Has anyone been back to their dealer yet to confirm pricing as seen online?

Mine still says they are just being given a car with color and options chosen by the factory, no ordering allowed. Since the option's msrp prices aren't listed and they don't know how the car will come equipped they still don't want to write anything up.

I'm hopeful, but not holding my breath

Re: Canadian Info

money2burn where in sask are you? I'm from there originally and bought an 07 Ram Sport and 06 SRT Charger from Regina. They told me recently they are importing 2 Chally's out of the states to sell. I'll wait for order banks to open up here for 09's and see whats up then.

Re: Canadian Info

A dealer importing them from the states? And then selling them as new no doubt, that ought to be interesting. Not surprising, but interesting.

I am in southern sask, won't say where. I worked for a dealer (who shall remain nameless) and at one point totalled off my demo in a really bad accident. The dealer kept the car, fixed it up and sold it as new and never told the buyer that it had even been in an accident at all.

not much surprises me anymore.

The dealer I am talking to tells me they're only getting one and that I am getting it for msrp, whatever that final dollar ends up being. But Until the keys are in my hand I am not holding my breath.

Not sure if you want to disclose but: what kind of info are you getting about pricing comared to MSRP? Are you talking to the guys in regina that own dealerships for dodge and most of the imports?

Re: Canadian Info

Where are all the canadians who are buying the new challenger. By the few canadians posting on these sites it should be no problem buying a 2008 challenger.
I spoke to my dealer yesterday and the dodge dealer order system is still not accepting orders.
I still have not seen anywhere on the internet that the pricing I posted is wrong or inaccurate.

Would there be an extra import tax/fee ? Is there also a possible different emissions set up for a U.S. model vs. any Canadien emissions requirements/regulations ? Canada does have emission standards don't you ? Canada is a large/spread out country with less population ,I thought/isn't it; maybe just in metro areas [ emissions] ?
