Car Insurance Cost

Anyone have prices etc on insurance on an SRT8 either an 08 or 09? I am aware state and city it will vary a lot, but want a general idea anyway what folks are paying.

thanks!

Re: Car Insurance Cost

I found over the years (if you are use to driving muscle cars) such as Corvettes or anything high performance and even my SSR falls into the same category with the LS2 Corvette motor in it that your insurance will not be any higher with this new Challenger.

They all fall into the same category and its usually the highest number on the scale but my insurance is really cheap at less than a thousand dollars a year for two vehicles.

Good driving record helps and keeping those tickets off the record is a big plus.

Not to worry on this car being any higher than a Corvette.

Re: Car Insurance Cost

I posted this on an old insurance thread, figure I'll repost it for this one.

I looked at insurance back when I had an '08 on deposit and thought that's what I was getting (later decided to save $5000, stop dealing with horrible local dealers, and get an '09 w/6-speed). Below was the quotes I obtained.

My father works for an insurance agency (so my quotes do include the discount I get for being a family member of an agent), but the companies the agency had quoted for me were:

(Keep in mind these are not big name nation-wide insurance companies and most are likely centralized to Michigan)
All of these are per 6-months
Citizens of America: $1,122
Cincinnati: $1,464
Frankenmuth: $3,196
Harleysville Lake States: $2,370
Michigan Millers: $2,259

Comparatively my current 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP is costing me $1,052 (through Citizens of America)

I am 24 with a flawless driving record.

The details of the policy:

COVERAGE:
Bodily Injury: $100,000 / $300,000
Property Damage: $100,000
Uninsured Motorist: $100,000 / $300,000
Underinsured Motorist: $100,000 / $300,000
Personal Injury Protection: EXCESS
Property Damage Buyback: YES
PIP Wage: FULL COVERAGE

VEHICLE LEVEL COVERAGE:
Comprehensive: $100 Deductible
Collision, Broadened: $500 Deductible
Property Protection: YES
Rental Reimbursement: 35/1000
Towing and Labor: 50

Re: Car Insurance Cost

Full coverage with $1000 deductible on my 2005 300C. Same policy for a Challenger SRT8 would increase my premium only $1.50 per 6 months.

Re: Car Insurance Cost

Alot depends on your age, maritial status, location, usage, record, and, CREDIT SCORE. If you are Military, USAA can't be beat. If you are not, AMICA is the best. Just shop around. Usually there is quite a spread between the top tier companies. Geico, Progressive, Allstate and State Farm.

Re: Car Insurance Cost

Allstate is very big on your Credit score and location. Just make sure your agent gets you all of the deductions you are entitled to. Also, make usre if you drive less than 7500 a year they know, as you will save there. THe higher the Deducables, the lower also. 100/300 is a must have.
