Thumbs up Car Wax

Meguiar's has a great 3-part video on how to wax your car and compare the performance of different waxes. Check it out at: http://www.meguiars.com/index.cfm

Be ready to give your new Challenger the best of care!

Re: Car Wax

Mine will get nothing less than a full hand Zaino treatment. Plus I plan on keeping her out of the rain for at least the first year.

Is Zaino a clear liquid? In the Meguiar's video, they compare the leading liquid wax (Zaino?) to Meguiar's and Meguiar's won hands down. If this is true, why spend the extra money?

Re: Car Wax

I will have to review the video sometime. Zanio is actually a polish and not a wax. It is a multi step process in which layers are added to add "depth" to the shine. I am a true believer. Once it is done, if you hand wash your car with the Zaino car wash and spritz it from time to time with the detailer spray, the polish can actually last for years. No "wax" can stand up to it. I keep saying that Zaino is a cult. Once you use it, you never stop.

Here are some proof pictures. 1st shot was taken about 2 years ago. It is original paint on a daily driver that I have been driving for about 9 1/2 years now. (98 model bought in 97)

Other shots are when the car was about 5-6 years old after fresh wax.

Is it a mirror, no it's a Zaino shine off my hood! White specs are actually paint chips from daily driving for 6 years.

Re: Car Wax

I have always use liquid Excalibur carnuba wax on my car.

I just tried Meguiars 3-step process- 1. Clay, 2. Cleaner wax, and 3. Detail spray. Like the commercial, all I can say is "wow." My black car which has always been very shiney now has a mirror finish. The kit costs $18.99 and includes all of the above items plus a microfiber towel.

It is really worth it. You guys should try it!

Re: Car Wax

Any paint experts out there to help with this question? I watched a show on TV a few months back and it was how to detail your car to show quality and I remember the guy saying "When it comes to your car's paint finish NEVER put anything on it that contains Petrolium Disolates or Synthetic Polymers". I went to our local auto store and started looking at ingredients in waxes and polishes and could not find one that was free of at least one of these chemicals.Anyone out there in cyberspace who paints show cars for a living have any input????
