car won't start... Code 39???

This has not been my week. First I get dumped by the girlfriend (which has been extremely depressing) and now my Challenger wont start. It seems like it is trying to start. I don’t know. When go to turn the car over the starter and turns once, waits a couple of seconds, does it again and so on as long as you’re trying to start the car. It also looks like it’s throwing some kind of code because after that in the gage’s it shows a bunch of empty boxes and the last two have the numbers 3 and 9. Any idea what that means? The car is going to be towed to the dealer but it won’t be looked at until Monday. I’ve just had a really bad week and now the only thing I enjoy broke…. Gezz…..

Sorry about the car, I have no info for you, sorry.
The gf, that blows. Wish you luck there too, just remember the car is a chick magnet.

Cheer up; the car will be fixed and there are a lot of women out there. Look at it this way, she left now instead of three years from now when it would be a whole lot more complicated.

I'd bet the next woman you meet will be better than the last.

Don't know if this is your problem, but might be something too look at. Some of the Challengers had a hard starting problem and it turned out to be a problem with the battery grounds. Click on the Shortcut to the TSB.

only the 6-speed cars get that sometimes. this is where the PRND3L would be correct?

try starting the car with the flooded engine technique in the owner manual.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Turns out the battery was drained just enough to not turn the car over. jumped it and got it running. I'm up to date on RRT's but I'm going to take it to the dealer Monday just to have them check it out.

Well something major is up with this car. Yesterday afternoon I went to take the Challenger out and... battery is dead again. Two days in a row. This time the battery was so low it wouldn't crank the car over at all. It had been less than 12 hours since I'd last driven the car. When I parked the car Saturday night I checked to make sure everything was off. I got the car jumped again yesterday. When I went to bed last night I plugged the battery into the trickle charger I have for winter. Car started this morning. I'll be taking it to the dealer after work. UGH

There's been an issue with the batteries that were installed at the factory.

Mine was serviced under the RRT campaign, but I had no issues with the original battery (cables and battery replaced). Three weeks later (after 500 miles of driving), the "new" battery went dead and I got the code 39 display.

Dealer replaced the 2nd battery and all has been fine - seems like there was a batch of dud batteries in the supply chain.
