They would have to engineer some way to make up for the stiffness lost with the b pillar gone, which is no small amount. Also would have to fab up rear windows, etc. A hardtop convertible would be slick.
I have a friend in Cal that has a 70 convert with a 440 6 pack numbers matching and a 4 gear. Very rare ho got it from a guy that did not pay his $1100 paint and body bill back i nthe early 80s, imagine what it is worth today?

they could probably do something like they did with the PT Cruiser with that 'roll bar' sort of thing that they put in it..
