If you move part of the LX production out of Brampton, DCX would have to pay for two construction/tooling projects instead of just one. Now, do you really think DCX wants to do this? I mean honestly. But on the other hand it's a car company and sometimes these guys do some crazy things.

Rumor has it that DCX wants to produce 45,000-50,000 Challengers a year. If this is true Chrysler has a couple of options. They can cut back production on the LX cars and install the tooling in Brampton, or they can install the tooling in another plant that isn't at full capacity, possibly Newark. I can't think of any other financially sound options.

Or they could make a low volume/high priced Challenger, build it in Brampton, and be done with it. I don't look for this to happen. I can see it all now....2008 Dodge Challengers on EBay for $100,000. If you think the outcry over the four door Charger was great, if DCX chooses this option, the boys at Chrysler haven't seen anything yet. And they know this.

The more I think about it, the more I realize it is a difficult decision for DCX. If only Brampton wasn't at full capacity, the decision would be easy.

It's all speculation now anyway. The good news is that DCX will build the Challenger. I don't know what the bad news is yet. I'm holding my breath.

No matter what they say it's all about the money.
