Challenger in a movie

OK, guys. How soon before we see a glossy black Challenger featured in an action movie? 4 months? 6 months?

It is a natural fact that hot looking cars are snatched up for movies. There is a reason you NEVER see an action hero flying through town in a Miata -- well, maybe if he is a GAY action hero.

So how soon? I bet the Challenger is in at least 4 movies next summer. TV will be even quicker. Picture Jack Bauer driving a dark gray Challenger.

Y'ahhhh ,I've been thinking of the same thing, with me [ of course] driving and seeing "Bauer' walking along a road{ in a ragged state} and needing to get somewhere/away "fast" !!!

Re: Challenger in a movie

I don't know but it sure would be sweet to see one in a movie especially if it's not for just a quick few seconds of the movie.

Re: Challenger in a movie

I just hope to God that Hollywood does not try to remake Vanishing Point. They will just **** it up and fail, like they already did with the '97 remake with Viggo Mortensen.....thankfully not many people can recall that as it was TV only. Just like they did with Gone In 60 Seconds. They introduced all this bull crap that was not part of the original. The romance between Nic Cage and Angelina Jolie. The drama between Nic Cage and Giovani Ribisi. Complete garbage. A lot of people that I've talked to didn't even know that that movie was a remake. If they remake Vanishing Point everyone and their grandma is going to jump on the bandwagon to get a white Challenger, just like what happened with Gone In 60 Seconds. 67-68 Mustang fastback prices and demand went through the roof after that movie all because of people that wanted to build/buy their own Eleanor. If they were true enthusiasts to the movie they would know that it's a remake and that the REAL Eleanor was a '73 Mach 1. Hollywood will not top Barry Newman and the original '70 Challenger or storyline, they did not top Toby Halicki and the '73 Mach. While we're talking about it....I hope they don't try to remake Bullitt, seeing as there is a new Bullitt Mustang out. Again, they will not top Steve McQueen or the original storyline or '68 Charger or Mustang.

Sorry to be so blunt about it all, but I have been watching Vanishing Point at least once a week since I was about 5 years old. And I have strong feelings against people that jump on the bandwagon for remakes or reincarnations of things when they know nothing about the originals.

I'm just praying a Challenger doesn't show up in this dumb Knight Rider remake.

Re: Challenger in a movie

It's bound to happen though , having as strong a car appeal as the Chally , Holly's bound to snatch a few , including remakes - it's a given ..... like you said with what happened to Gone in 60 sec's - it's only logical to do so , although it doesn't need all that hype to sell on its own ! This car industry is getting the retro bug ..... and Hollywood has just doing been so with a lot of their movie remakes

No, I'm talking featured in the movie. There just aren't many hot cars on the market, and most hot cars are nosebleed expensive. Nothing out there for the regular Joe. The Mustang is close but no cigar. It just doesn't have the full "hotness" for a starring movie role.

It just doesn't work to add a V8 soundtrack to a Camry or Accord.

Belive me, the Challenger and Camaro are going to be featured as the bad ass hero or villain's car in many movies to come over the next few years. It is just a question of when and how many. You'll see.
