Re: Challenger R/t 0-60

Depending on the driver, the 6-speed, with the lower 3.92 final drive gear may be a few tenths quicker in the 1/4. However, the auto has a 3.59 1st gear for quicker launches. The 6-speed's first gear is only 2.97.

Re: Challenger R/t 0-60

Ok... well i love the challengers looks. but id be lying if i said 5.9 0-60 wasnt a really horrible time.

the new Camaro's 0-60 will be better than that on the V6 model...

isnt anyone a little afraid that Challenger is going to have a hard time competing being so much bigger and bulkier than the lighter mustangs and Camaro?

Re: Challenger R/t 0-60

Something is way wrong...the r/t weighs 150# less than srt and only 50 horse less and the guess here is that it will be slower in the 60 by 1.2 sec? Of course no one knows right now but my guess is 5.4 is what the mags will get when they do their first drive reviews.

Easy, the 6.1 is underrated.

Exactly, and the 6.1 makes more power sooner in the rpm's. That is due to the extra cubic inches

Yea, and the auto has consistency on its side. Even the best drivers have a bad launch once in a while, but with the auto you just slap it into drive and punch it

I say the Auto will win most of the time in the 1/4, with a few great launches on the 6 speed takin the rest of the wins.

My guess is with the added horsepower, and LSD. The R/T should be getting 5.3-5.4 in the 0-60

Re: Challenger R/t 0-60

You bet. I like the beastly 6.1 also but the 5.7 is no slouch w/ 375hp and 400 twist. Still think the r/t is under 1 sec slower not over 1 sec. I think we are going to be a little surprised w/ the r/t if it is the same output as the Ram engine.
