Exclamation Challenger R/T And SXT News

Some may be interested in this thread from 300cforums! Makes sense not everyone will go for the SRT8.

Dodge might reveal Challenger R/T and SXT earlier than expected - Chrysler 300C & SRT8 Forum

Re: Challenger R/T And SXT News

What !!!! No Striping and only 350hp instead of 380 !!!? Noo way !

The R/T is expected to offer a 350 horsepower 5.7-liter HEMI V8, while the SXT will make use of a 250 horsepower V6 motor. Both models will come without the "racing stripes" that are standard to the SRT8's paint job.

No. You need to read down in the thread. RS says it's have the new motor with 380HP.

It looks like the R/T will not have the hood striping. Also, it will have round exhaust tips- not rectangular like those on the SRT. Dodge apparently wants to clearly distinguish the SRT from the R/T. If you really need the stripes, you will probably be able to order them from Dodge parts.

I posted a photo of the 2009 R/T in the Photo Gallery. It was taken in the garage of a Dodge executive. See page 1 under Cuda340.

Cuda340 , merci buckets for that pic . It looks good and takes some getting used to w/out the stripes , but still looks retro heheh
I woulda thought it woulda came with side R/T graphics , probably will (at least as an option)

Merci buckets? Is someone quoting Better Off Dead here? Well honk my hooter.

As for the R/T, I am totally gonna force Dodge to put racing stripes on it when I order it. I really think the car looks strange without them. It helps accent the buldge in the hood. That, and I have always wanted racing stripes.

Re: Challenger R/T And SXT News

The post " Naked Silver Chally spotted" in addition to the SRT-8, there is a photo of a silver 09 Challenger parked next to bus, without stripes.

Re: Challenger R/T And SXT News

The R/T spied had no stripes so it basically comes naked.

I don't think it's a big deal as the stripe on SRT8s doesn't go over the roof or rear deck and appears to be a decal. This gives you guys the opportunity to treat your car as a canvas and paint it however you like.

I'm sure Chrysler has special editions with different stripes planned.

Re: Challenger R/T And SXT News

I don't really care about the hood stripes but I'm gonna have to do an SRT exhaust conversion and wheels. I really don't like the charger wheels they will use on it.
